i subjected this alarm to 30 ppm calibration gas, this is the appropriate co alarm, responds in less than 1 minute for co levels of 25 ppm or more, the competition, Kidde C3010, won't alarm until a level of 70 ppm is maintained for 1 to 4 hours, that’s Kidde’s specification, that is not appropriate.

For better or worse I really have no gauge for how well it does or does not work. It came highly recommended and the specs are great! It always reads 0 and theres a little green led that pops on every so often, so I guess thats good. I don't really want to "test" it so I'll just assume it's great

It's small and compact, and easy to install. Comes with an install plate and screws to mount on the wall. I tested it using both the test button, and standing with it near the car exhaust and it alerted pretty quickly. That was the only way I knew to get enough actual carbon monoxide to test it in the real world so it seems to do that job! Be aware though, that it is not actually UL2034 compliant, which is states on the device. Still good for added peace of mind!

I really like the product. The company is one of only a few companies that make detectors that detect low levels of CO. I feel better knowing that it will arm quickly at 25 ppm. I wish other companies made low-level products like this. I had a question about the capabilities and the company replied very fast and was a pleasure to work with. The company's YouTube channel is also very helpful. The product came with nice Lithium batteries too! I recommend the product. No complaints. Easy to setup.

Most people don’t understand how important it is to have a “real time†low level carbon monoxide detector. This is a great detector. Way better than anything bought from a “box storeâ€!

I recognize that, as stated right on the unit itself, this CO Monitor is NOT a replacement for a traditional CO alarm. I appreciate that Forensics Detectors has made this so clear. So why get it? I got it specifically because this unit has a lower detection threshold than the standard CO alarm spec and because it will alarm faster. Those two properties mean that there are times when it may trigger an alert that isn't actually a problem due to a transient condition like a gas furnace coming on or a stove getting lit or something else where the CO will get naturally cleared by dispersion in the ambient atmosphere before it can become an issue. That's specifically why the standard CO alarm spec has higher thresholds for both PPM and time. But, for informational purposes, I find the awareness of even such transient conditions to be valuable to me, especially in a monitoring device that's portable in size that I can bring with me to other locations. This is a tool, and a very sensitive one at that, that I am very glad to be able to use on a regular basis.

This carbon monoxide detector looks and installs just like any other CO alarm—super simple. There’s not much to do other than insert the batteries and mount it (ideally near the ground for best detection).I placed mine right outside my mechanical room, where my gas-fueled boiler and water heater are. At first, I was a little concerned since this is a low-level alarm, and I worried it might pick up even trace amounts of CO from the pilot light or general environment. However, it has been working perfectly without any false alarms. If you’re looking for a reliable, easy-to-use CO detector for peace of mind in your home, this is a great choice.

The manufacturer, Forensics Detectors, seems to have a broad amount of experience with gas detection systems, so as with this type of detector, I have to hope this credibility means something. My last CO detector expired, so I went looking for a new one and ended up with this. It's dramatically more expensive than the most popular models, so I was curious what you get.It does present an actual readout for PPM and adds some abilities for storing readings, so it really does have some more functionality than the normal base detector. That said, I have no real way to test it, and so far, even placed just outside my furnace area, I haven't seen it give any readings. There's a lot of trust with these systems where, the main suggestion for testing that I've been able to find is to press the 'test' button to make it beep...because making a button that makes something beep is so complex? Still, with this company's reputation, I'd expect this will serve its purpose. One nit-picky point, however, is the usage of the United States flag on one of their marketing images when, in fact, the device itself is made in China even if it is designed and specced in the US.
