A few years ago, we hunted far and wide for a water delivery service that had glass bottles. We used them for years and love the safe feeling that comes from water that is from a glass container. We moved out of the delivery district and just didn't want to risk my back flying out, every time I'd lift a 5 gallon jug full of water. These 3 gallon jugs are simply beautiful and very affordable. They are heavy but I can manage and they are the perfect size for the two of us since I don't like the thought of it sitting for too long. because it's glass be sure to keep out of direct sun, if your water is artesian it will grow algae...this is less of a problem with RO water that is essentially void of anything unless you add your own minerals to it. I'm glad we found these carboys, even if they are promoted as beer making containers, they fit our water dispenser perfectly.

I bought two of these 3 gal glass carboy jugs. I use them with my water cooler in place of a typical plastic 5 gal jug. I've had them for a little more than 3 months and they've worked perfectly so far. They're very heavy when full but look really good atop our water cooler. I receive compliments on them whenever someone new visits. It just looks really good compared to a plastic jug. The glass is thick and sturdy. I bought two rubber stoppers that i use when transporting them from the water windmill to home and when storing the second jug that's not in use. No signs of cracking so far. Would definitely buy again if needed because they look so good.

Switched from plastic to BPA-free plastic water bottles and then switched to buying my own glass water bottle, this one.3 gallons is still light enough, it's thick glass, for me to lift and pour and carry. It's well made and it looks nice, too. A bonus.Pleasantly surprised because others I've seen were about 40% more in price. It was packed really well and sent to me by the seller with fast Fed-Ex service for free! Thanks very much!!!

Ordered this carboy because i was too lazy to go and buy it in person at a brew store. If you have the option, a brew store will probably sell this for a few dollars cheaper.

It's just hard to beat a glass carboy. I have tried the plastic ones and they are lighter but come with issues for me. Move one around when it's full and you'll see the problem. They flex enough that I have had my airlock water get pulled into my wine and that is no good to me. I just don't have the setup to never have to move my carboys and never will. I trust these glass carboys and if taken care of they will far outlast me. The 3 gallon size is great for half batches. I have found I often prefer the 3 gallon size to a larger one and as I get older may go to all 3 gallon size batches for the weight convenience.

After Extensive Review reading on different sizes and glass VS non-BPA, we decided on glass because the plastic ones shatter sometimes if you barely knock them against the wall when lifting them. The 3-gallon car boy weighs about same as the 3 gallons of water. My husband has a hard time lifting them even using the "Egar Products carboy handle" that is a hood idea to buy on Anazon! I had hoped I could handle the 3 gallon jugs, but no way.We bought 5, so we store them inside the cardboard box that came with each jug, the idea being that they would ride more safely in the car to and from the water store. My husband says the box fits snug and is super difficult to remove the jug when it's full. When it's empty, it's ok. But we might just get rid of the boxes.Winemakers made good on the order. FedEx had broken 3 of the 5 jugs and shipped the box of broken jugs back to Winemakers. There was confusion for 3 weeks as Winemajers thought that we had received the full shipment but Amazon customer service and the head paperwork clerk at Winemakers figured it out. They finally sent our 3 missing jugs and all is well.If we had it to do over, we would still have bought the 3 gallon glass jugs but maybe started off with 2-3. Storing all 5 takes up so much space that I'm not sure it's worth the reduced number of trips to the water store, as it's just 2 adults at home now. But thus summer when the kids come with their families we will probably be glad for the 5 car boys.Glad we did not buy 5 gallon glass car boys!

I love this carboy, had it for 2 and a half years. I have made so much hooch, and mead, and wine out of it!. I got some "distiller's yeast" that can bring some juice or "sugar water" essentially, up to nearly 20% alc vol, in about 3 weeks, dependent upon temperature, ingredients etc.. Got a batch going on right now. Just looked up this exact same page again, to re-purchase an additional one (2 and a half years after 1st purchase). The glass is thick, and it's very sturdy. Really pleased with this carboy. Highly recommend!

Did not come as pictured. (Looks like the ones currently sold by "generic" [will take pictures of product and defects later this week])Ordered 2, both came with Cracks on the bottom. I do not want to ship them back. The cracks seem to go all the way to the other side of the glass I do not believe they leak however.I do not want to bother returning this product. I will end up using smaller glassware and will look for higher quality. There are also bubbles in the glass. The glass quality is not the best in the world. There is a grammatical error (faulty grammar) on the bottom of this bottle. It says (Made Italy) perhaps it is a fake as I don't see someone selling a quality product while skipping on the "in".Other than that the glass is nice and thick. The 1 star is because of my personal experience with the product so far.Perhaps they will serve me well, perhaps they will blow up in my face sending me to the ER with huge chunks of glass in my face.
