A quick and handy alternative to a traditional separator!
Using our skimmer ladle, scoop up the oil as best as you can and dump out the soup and then empty the oil into a mug and repeat until you feel that all the oil has been scooped up.
Steps for use
- The ladle holds about 1/3 cup liquid and a small slot with the single small hole at the bottom.
- Amount of soup and oil must be higher than the inside slot of the separator .
- When you tilt the ladle, the oil stays on top and the soup gets poured out

I cook a lot of soups and stocks using beef and chicken leftovers. I didn't want too much oil left over and this product helps me with that without wasting the soup. Easy to use and less expensive than the other options I saw on Amazon.

I recently purchased the fat separator ladle for my kitchen and while it's not a game changer, it gets the job done. The design is nothing special, but the spout does help to separate the fat from the juices, which is useful for making sauces and other dishes.The ladle is made of sturdy plastic and seems durable, although I have yet to put it through the test of time. It's easy to clean and fits well in my kitchen drawer.However, the spout isn't as precise as I had hoped, and sometimes a little bit of fat still ends up in the juices. Also, the handle is a bit on the short side, making it a little awkward to use at times.One thing I have noticed is that this ladle isn't great for making gravy. The spout isn't narrow enough to remove all the fat from the drippings, resulting in a less-than-ideal gravy consistency.Overall, the fat separator ladle isn't a standout kitchen gadget, but it's a useful tool to have on hand for those who cook often. It gets the job done, but there may be better options out there for those looking for a more precise and easy-to-use fat separator.
