Great item to start the zeroing in, easy to use, and while have have not been to the range yet to confirm, the item seems to work exactly as described. I’m excited to test it, real world, and will update when I confirm what I believe will be excellent results. Comes in nice small case with 3 sets of extra batteries.

In daylight you can't see it more than 6-8 feet away.

Quality seems great. Worked out of the box with extra batteries included. Cycled thru gun easily no problems ejecting. No complaints whatsoever.

Comes with 3 packs of batteries. The first pack didn't work at all. With the second pack, the laser range was about 20-feet, at the most. Completely worthless product.

So it is nice that it comes with 3 separate sets of 3 small coin batteries, so you'll be good on batteries for a while. I have gone through many bore sighters over time. I usually lose them or they stop working. I have a few 223 versions right now to compare this too. It comes in a little plastic box that closes shut tight and locks with a tab, with foam inserts for the bore sighter and the 3 stack of 3 batteries. The batteries come wrapped in plastic so you obviously have to remove that to use it. If you weren't smart enough to figure that out there's a card with intructions specifically about removing the plastic wrapping from the batteries......so there more than a few idiots that didn't, lol.The sighter itself has a rim, so you can lock it in the chamber and your extractor claw snaps over the rim. Easier for extraction that way. Many "in chamber" bore sighters do not have rims and they are a pain to get out sometimes. So a positive there. The laser dot is not a super crisp and clean circle. It's a little irregular, probably like what people see with an astigmatism with a red dot. It doesn't matter that much, because this is just for general sighting in. It's good enough for that and maybe it's just mine, but many laser bore sighters have a crisper red dot that this one does. You always need to shoot your gun to actually zero an optic. I've had many rifles boresighted and when I actually shot it on paper, it was way off horizontally (left or right) and always vertically (up and down) off to some degree. This boresighter will get you on paper and in the general area but because a laser is a straight line and the bullet follows a vertical path, up and then down, the distance you sight your optic is will be different than where a laser falls at the same distance. Also the spin drift and other ballistic factors of a rifled projectile will sometimes have more of less lateral travel out of different barrels and distances. So please don't trust a laser bore sight by itself to get you on target for anything that matters, like hunting or protection.I think this is a decent bore sighter for a decent price. You can buy more expensive but why?....a laser boresighter isn't to be exact anyway. It's just to get you started. This one is as good as any I've used for that purpose.See pictures of sighter and case above.....9 total batteries.Good luck and good health,Dr. K
