After returning 2 other placemat selections this one is perfect for my needs. I ordered 3 sets of 6. My dining table is a white/gray marbelized and my other is a black table. The mats look great on both. I'm using them for a New Years Eve dinner party for 16 people. I was happy to update my table accessories and Amazon makes it so easy. The mats are beautiful and will wash off easily. They ARE NOT flimsy and they lie flat. Very pleased!

Love the color of these placemats! I thought I wanted cloth placemats for easy clean up in the wash. These wipe clean so easily, I'm glad I took a chance!

I agree with the shopper who said the Black looks basically brown (the tan fibers in the weaving give it an overall "espresso" color with a brown hued undertone, not true black). The mats feel fine in quality but they are porous, so beware if that's a deal-breaker for you. I think the espresso color is nice, but unfortunately it's not what I was looking for. Will be returning.
