My pool vacuum quit working and I was having trouble getting my pool company out. Took the vacuum apart and did not see any issues. Decided to replace the booster pump. This pump was reasonably priced and had decent reviews. It was easy to install with a couple of modifications that were not overly difficult. The pump and vacuum are working great and the pump is much quieter than the previous one that was more than double the price. Very happy so far, time will tell about how long it lasts.

Pump worked great for 15 months. Then it started making a horrendous noise. Bearings are shot. Need a new pump.

My Pentair booster pump seized on me and I found this one online. For the price and purpose of the same job my booster rite was doing it’s a great deal. My booster pump was hard wired but the connections are easy to put together. Fired her up and it worked like a charm. Just keep in mind if your booster is hardwired you may to consider a small outdoor junction box to keep wires sealed.

You need a pvc 1" to 3/4" connectors to fit the standards booster pumps connectors. You will not be able to use the conduit or joint of your original wiring if you are purchasing it as a replacement.

A number of reviewers were dissatisfied with the wiring. It is true that code would probably not allow hard wiring round black sheathed cable. I think I have encountered this before. However, compared to the ease of hookup, who cares? Unless you are going to need an inspection. Wiring seems a little light duty, but motor only draws 6.2 amps. You don't need 12 ga. wire for that. I have checked the wiring after running the pump for hours, and the wiring is not warm. Pump runs fine and is very quiet. Plenty of pressure to operate the cleaner. For DIY homeowners, this is a good choice. UL listing would be nice, though.

My Pentair booster pump for the pool cleaner only lasted two years and it would cost 3 or 4 times as much as this pump to replace it with the OEM which has a very short warranty. Figured I’d give this one a try and get the Amazon offered three year extended warranty for 1/3 the cost. It looks almost exactly like my old pump with valves in the same place. The only real difference I saw was on the electrical connections. The Pentair had beefy electrical connections designed for large gauge wires. I had to basically remove the provided wiring harness on this unit and wire directly to the posts inside. It was comical connecting my large existing wires to the smaller posts (used some new crimp connectors) but the listed voltages all seemed to matchup and the wiring diagram with this unit provided for my setup. Worked flawless from first start. Have a small water leak at the hose connection but I reused the existing connectors and probably should have installed new ones (project for warmer weather). With the warranty I’m at least guaranteed to have a replacement that lasts longer than the original. Murphys law since I bought the extended warranty, this unit will outlast the OEM.

Was working great until exactly 6 months later when I noticed a high pitch humming noise and water slowly leaking from seal. There is another reviewer who describes the same exact problem. I have reached out to CS. I will update based on their response. I would avoid this particular model.
