They seem to heat up but I've only used them once so far and it was not very intense heat. And they're quite bulky and even a medium is very tight on my medium sized women's hands

Had trouble getting hand in xxl bought xxxl and took stitching out of wrist elastic, easier now. It still too tight.

The fit is good and the materials appear to be very good for working hands but the heat output is not what the gift recipient expected, and so I do not feel the value for the money was worth it.
