First of all, definitely LOVE that white coating on this DM13. Looks very delicate. I only have tried for about 2 hours and this CD player sounds very good for its size and the reading stability is much better compare to the CD player in my Volkswagen. My VW’s CD player can play 85% of my homemade CDs then FiiO DM13 can do >95% easily. The CD-RW disc with AAC files burned in 8x struggles in my VW (skipping songs), while FiiO played all the songs just fine (except a few hiccups, yeah that disc burned pretty bad). I’m on the latest V11 software (Non-Bluetooth). I recommend to check FiiO website for more in-depth FAQ for more info that is not listed on the user manual. Regarding to the sound, volume control need some patience since it is not a dial. I use both headphones and speakers, and I have to press Volume + for at least 5 seconds to get near max volume for my speaker. Otherwise it sounds fantastic. Great soundstage with my HD599, and music is very detailed. A very linear, flat accurate sound reproduction. Definitely recommend this player.

Is this a tad bit difficult to figure out? Yes. Once you figure it out it works great with good quality hi-fi sound. Definitely worth it for the price!

I wanted to like this CD player but I no longer can deal with it. I finally gave up on it 2 weeks into my ownership. Sounds very great (VERY LOUD also) and the build quality is excellent but the many negatives out weight those positives to the point I felt like FIIo really half baked this product from a FUNCTIONAL stand point. Very glitchy with formats other than MP3 or Red book CD. Literally this thing FROZED up on me while trying to play a AAC/FLAC CD and not to mention it FRIED on of my USB flash drives while ripping a CD so I just had to get my money back. The button layout is also confusing so I'll just stick the the Sony's and Panasonic's of 20+ years ago. Fiio just need to go back to the drawing board and correct these issues especially for the price they are asking for this thing. I have other Fiio products like their headphone hi res amp which is GREAT but their first attempt at a portable CD is unexpectedly LACKLUSTER.

This is a solid cd player. Controls well laid out. Can run off internal rechargeable battery or flip switch and save battery running charge from computer with usb cord. Sound quality is excellent. Very clean and crisp. Very balanced sound between treble and base. Note although you can flip a switch and stabilize for mobile use this is heavy very solidly built metal and really meant for desktop use. Only criticism is that have to really crank up sound level to drive full size headphones. I used Sennheiser HD598 and had to crank volume setting to 70-75 to listen at decent sound level. Will drive in ear headphones at much lower level. A pricey product but welcome entry to market with few new portable cd products that aren’t junk.

We had first gotten the cassette player so I wanted to get the CD player for my husband for xmas. I waited to long and ended up getting it from all about office. I regretted that choice because I paid for express and ended up with priority. No biggie I guess until I saw the thin bag and the dents in the bx. We are going to get another but will go direct w amazon for our next one.Solid unit though we were not disappointed

Sounds Good through Bluetooth But none of the other output including EarBuds Plugged into it have no sound at all. as if they are not even hooked up. Looked for something in the menu to turn it on manually but the menu just seems to have setting for only repeat or repeat all or repeat track number. Not worth the money spent However it does do bluetooth well. It is also built very tough. All heavy gauge aluminum that's good.

I love this CD player (FiiO DM13) but have not fully figured out how to use it. The Quick Start Guide is very minimal and doesn't fully explain things like how long it needs to fully charge, how you know when it is fully charged, how to use the Bluetooth connection in my car, etc. There needs to be a complete, well written User Manual IN ENGLISH. I think I want to keep it but am very frustrated with the various functions I need to understand to fully operate it. I did email FiiO regarding the DM13 and they sent a link that more fully explains its operation, so I hope I can master using it working with that information.

The sound is great and you can connect it to your amplifier as well as using it as a portable player. The build quality seems really good as well. I would recommend it.
