My wife bakes the bead and she loves this slicer guide. it's adjustable for loaf width which our old one wasn't. It seems very sturdy and should last a long while. She only uses the thicker slice guides for slicing. That is the one con, we wish all the slice guides were the thicker ones but really not a big deal. Just remove your sliced pieces and slide the loaf up and keep cutting.

No instructions make for mistakes. Sounds like another reviewer ran into the same thing. I went to the selling site and checked to see how it was set up. I had the end panels wrong and the size slots reversed. Dale shouldn't have had so much trouble. Instructions, even a line drawing would have helped. Once I got the thing set up right, slicing was made lots easier. Stacks down nicely and fits in my cupboard. sitting vertically. I put a plastic cutting sheet cut to fit in the slot to protect the nice bamboo at the bottom. So I have to deal with the crumbs. Better than slicing into the nice board.

I ordered this item, found it to be defective, returned it for an exchange, and now the replacement is defective. The replacement bread slicer is delaminating. A thin, surface layer of bamboo is peeling away. In summation, I would advise, right idea, wrong design, buy a different slicer.

This is a review of the FILWH Bread Slicer Bamboo Wood with Crumb Tray Adjustable Bread Slicing Guide Foldable Compact Cutting Board Easily Cut Homemade Cake Bread:I ordered this to be used for homemade breads and cutting of bagels. I like that the guides are adjustable so I can determine the thickness of the slices. I generally prefer my bread to be sliced thin, and it’s much easier to accomplish this with this bread slicer. The wood was smooth and of good quality. I found the slicer to be easy to wipe clean, though some effort (minimal) must be made to get between nooks and crannies. The bamboo is lightweight and simple to assemble, once initially figured out. Directions were not included; it definitely would be nice to have them, especially for the initial assembly. I like that there is a crumb-catcher tray, for catching the bulk of the mess. The slicer folds up for more convenient storage.
