I had a solid rosewood Strat neck in the shop with cheap white plastic fretboard dots. My client wanted something better looking. We opted for black korina wood dots. The 1/4" plug cutter from this set made perfect sized dots for this project. I drilled out the plastic dots, used the plug cutter to cut dots from a piece of black korina stock, glued then in, filed them flush with the fretboard surface and Voila!

Not sharp, won’t cut, waste of time. Burrs on the cutter. Oh, and they are marked in metric so they might be close to right size but from other reviews the plugs are not tight. It said it was fractional in the advertising. Might be a better choice to hit their local woodworking shop for quality. I did try a upgraded cutter on Amazon and it cut great but same China hack job:; chipped cutter and casting flaws. I hope it holds up.

I have only tested a few plugs. Not sure if the smaller plugs will work as my test pieces came out rough. The wood was soft pine so i with hardwood

Probably works great on softer wood like pine or poplar, but struggled on walnut

They were pretty inexpensive but worked awesome. I needed to make like 200 10mm plugs and it worked great

These plug cutters would not cut. It's as if they are not sharp.
