These you install and pull tab to start, then they have a battery that last ten years . When they go out you throw them away ! Easy peasy

Installed in the garage, since we have a gas water heater. Had a 5+ year old of the same brand, but different model, that reached EOL.

Haven't had this very long, but appears as described. Easy to install. I like the fact that I can replace the batteries when they run low. My last one had an internal battery and was 9 years old and it began chirping. The nice option of having one with a battery is when it's time to replace the unit around 10 years lifespan, I have time to replace it. With the internal battery, I had to rush to replace it and was without any system for over a week.

Good product but testing was not easy for a Home inspector. It was less than two yrs old. Purchased a different replacement with easier test button!
