I've seen some comments critical of the need to tap the barometer to get the needle to move. I asked my wife if she ever saw her dad doing that back in her home country of Austria, she said all the time. We bought this barometer because it was closest to the one, she grew up with. I think of it as a feature because you want to see the direction of the change don't you.

I just set my new barometer, adjusted for elevation, relative to my local airport readings. We presently have a storm approaching, so it's a perfect time to test accuracy. I just woke up, and the instrument is reading exactly what the mathematical calculations would predict. Just Awesome! I'm super excited! The quality is what I would expect from a German made product, and the company's outreach is stellar. No batteries or internet connection required. Happy Customer!

Since I received this barometer, I have mounted it on the wall, and the needle has never moved... It seems obvious to me that it does not work. At this price it is quite frustrating

It did not track large pressure changes in 24 hrs. I did not care for the device, so I returned it. Tapping on the dial did not keep up with the pressure changes. I never expected one to be perfect, but when it is off by nearly a 0.50 reading I am not interested in it for the money I paid.
