The large opening of these clamps fit well over the wide gunwale of my Boston Whaler. Very versatile adjustability. Solid construction. I wish the screw was stainless steel so they wouldn't rust.

Midwest Wisco fisherman was looking for something simple on the cottage aluminum boat 16'. Had great hopes for these as they appeared to be tough enough for crappie fishing, they weren't. After two fish the swivel joint immediately stripped and could not be fastened to prevent the holder from moving out of position when a crappie struck during a 1mph troll. Do not b uy if you want to use them for any type of light trolling they will fail immediately.

The clamps are too narrow so it tips over easily, and the rotating pivot nut is made of plastic and the grooves are very small so a very light amount of torque on the holder causes it to spin. And any spinning causes the grooves to smooth out which makes the thing very useless very quickly. I ended up having to lash mine with bailing wire to keep it from rotating. This is very annoying when making turns when trolling.
