I’ve only been able to try them out once. But I did drop a pole into the water and didn’t have to panic. I’m using these on bait casters and there is no interference from the floats.

I do a lot of kayak fishing, especially trolling for walleye. Sometimes things can get chaotic between the wind, waves, and hooking into a couple fish at a time. There have been a couple instances where I lost a rod overboard but these floats saved me a couple hundred dollars. Thankfully the rod floated long enough for me to circle back around and grab it out of the water.
