I have been fly fishing for almost 50 years and have probably gone through dozens of Zingers. I usually have 3 on my vest at any time. This one by fish pond is a cut above anything I have ever had. It costs a bit more but is worth the price.

Strong, reliable, durable and attractive. Very good snap attachment at the clothing end. Good strength on retraction, though a *little* stronger would not be amiss with me. A bit heavy, but I guess that’s the price for durability. I use these for fly fishing, but also a transit pass, photo white balance card, compass, etc. It’s nice using well made gear, but you have to pay a premium for it with this gadget.

I love this retractor with all of my heart but it got caught on a tree and the string did snap fairly easily. Might honestly get another and try to be more careful though.Update: I noticed there are screws and repaired it in 5 minutes. Back to 5 stars

The cord is good length when it extends making it easy to use tools while standing in moving water without fear of losing them. This is a well built product that holds ut to constand day-to-day use.

I already had two of these and I needed one more. I connect pliers, clippers and hook remover to my fishing satchel. No more lost tools and perfect access to the tool you need to make your fishing experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this product!

The carabiner style attachment is great for securely fixing arrowhead to bags, fishing vest etc. Perfect for ensuring you don’t drop expensive accessories like Abel/Simms nippers in the drink while wading. Not really suitable for heavier items such as pliers but they’re not designed for that. Overall very good, neat and effective retractor.
