  • Gradation marks make it easy to measure depth for perfect planting
  • 2.25 inch diameter

The smart design of this compact tool makes bulb planting easy. A spring-loaded handle releases bulbs for planting and provides excellent grip, and gradation marks help you make sure you’re planting your bulbs at just the right depth. The durable steel body won’t rust or bend when digging into tough soil.

The brand produces quality products. This bulb planter is no exception. It is made of strong materials to hold up to season after season of use. It comes fully installed, ready to use. Good grip mechanism that speeds up the process of burying a lot of bulbs. It is priced reasonably and looks great in your garden tool arsenal, especially if you stick with this brand.

Great Tool. There are reviews which say it is not well made and broke after a few uses. I disagree. I have top grade soil in my flower beds with a large amount of worms. The worms keep the soil loose and soft and so this tool has no trouble digging holes. I think the people who complained must have hard, heavy, clay soil. If this is so, then even a shovel would have trouble making holes.

Does what it's designed to do. I'm sure this is intended primarily for well-prepared garden soil which is not hard packed. And, the way I've used it so far doesn't meet that description. That is, I've used it on unprepared soil, frequently encountering small roots along the way. Without forcing it beyond reasonable bounds, it has done well. It's not indestructible though. I fear that even my feeble old arms could wreck it fairly easily if I'm not careful. My mother had such a device when I was a kid, sort of. It didn't have the expansion feature which is really useful.

As long as the soil is soft enough to push a stick into, this bulb planter will work more quickly and with less effort than any other planter I have tried. You don't even have to bend down, just pop the bulb into the top of the pipe and give it a blessing. The only slight problem is that doubles and triple bulbs may have to be divided to fit into the top of the pipe.

We bought 2 of these because we had ordered almost 300 bulbs and needed to get them in the ground fast. For all but the bulbs requiring a 6" planting depth, this tool worked well. Our soil is very rocky and even when encountering small stones up to about an 1" in diameter, we were able twist the tool back and forth and get the hole dug. The serrated edge helps with this.Once the desired depth is achieved, all you have to do is pull the bulb planter out and squeeze the handle to release the dirt. And as our soil is quite dense, almost all of the soil came out quite easily. I suppose if your soil is very sandy or soft this feature may not work quite as well.It seems sturdy enough, but only time will tell. So for now, I am quite pleased with the purchase and would certainly recommend the Fiskars Bulb Transplanter.

Will not hold up well if you hits rocks or clay, Thin product, really made for softer grounds.BUT It does a very good job on soft grounds and makes bulb holes.

Daffodil bulbs probably won't fit down the chute, but get it anyway. It makes digging the holes so much easier than any other gizmo. I have a habit of buying those contractor bags of a couple hundred bulbs, so we've tried many of the things that are supposed to make it easy. This thing is the best one.

I guess I finally found a Fiskars product I don't like. Normally, their products are top notch. I have Fiskars scissors, crafts knives, paper cutters, and even a reel mower, but this product is garbage. I used it ONCE and it broke. My soil wasn't real compacted either. I had to put a little pressure on the handle and the sides bent. The two parts of the handle separated and the spring broke soon after. I'm a small woman with carpal tunnel and *I* managed to break this thing, if that tells you how flimsy it is. I physically can't put much pressure on it with my hands because of my CT. I bought this because, despite my pain, I enjoy gardening and I thought it'd make planting bulbs and transplanting small plants easier than using my spade, which requires a lot of turning of my wrists. What a waste of money. Just use a spade or get a better quality hole poker.

Excellent quality. Feels strong and we’ll built. I bought this last summer and just reviewing now. Hasn’t rusted, no cracking in the plastic - however I never leave it outside. When I’m done using it it always goes back into the garage. Feels very well made. Hopefully if I continue to care for it we’ll it will last for years!

I just finished planting over 100 bulbs. Would have taken me months to do it without this tool.I hope the plastic pedal doesn't break overtime but otherwise it is a well built tool

I like the way the tool handles and digs a hole with ease for the bulbs.

This product is good, except for the depth that it cuts into the ground. You cannot plant a bulb deeper than 4" without using a trowel.
