I did not like the little wooden knob on the top of this as it was very small so I added my own knob. You can purchase any knob from the hardware store to replace. It was easy to unscrew. As for the size, this is the large one and it holds two sticks of butter easily! I buy Amish hand rolls and therefore the odd cuts 😊

I read reviews and the entire description before I ordered. There are 2 sizes, L and XL. I got the XL since I use Kerry Gold or Costco butter. It's plenty large for both brands. I like my yellow color. The wood handle is good to grip and looks great on the counter. Do not put in dishwasher. I found that it's better to have a non-transparent lid since I keep my butter on the counter. It lasts much longer in the "dark".

The butter dish is just as pictured and described. The reason for 4 stars is that the wooden knob is quite small for the size and weight of the lid. It works fine, but feels like maybe it won't.

I have been searching for months on a bigger butter keeper with no avail. After finding this butter dish my needs were answered. This dish is big and heavy just my granny used to have.

This is a bizarre butter dish, at least for US consumers: The lid is too short to cover a regular butter stick! and it's too narrow to accommodate wider European butter sticks like Kerry Gold! I have no idea who they are designing this for. Had to return.
