Great gripper for almost any size freshwater fish. I keep it clipped to my vest. Once it is attached to a fish, the fish doesn't get loose. The spring loaded jaws keep the fish snuggly attached and does not require you to keep gripping it. Easy to let the fish back down into the water if you wish. The narrow jaws are good for bass as well as pan fish. I caught a four pound bass and it easily held. This gripper will hold up to 22 pounds. This is the best addition to my tackle box this season.

These were great, especially when you want them on your bass backpack just to handle fish that you might not be able to get that trouble out of and want to hold onto

The 7-inch version is great - not too big, not too small, light but strong - holds fish securely. The action is smooth. The lanyard is handy.The 5-inch version requires a lot more thumb pressure and is thus much less comfortable to use.
