A 3/4" size will fit a 55 gal with 3/4" tap in the bung cap. Will handle viscous material.

This Rieke 3/4" Flo-Rite plastic faucet made out of Food approved polyethylene (PE) plastic. Designed to screw into 3/4" threaded openings and can be used to dispense most non-flammable liquids and chemicals.
Polyethylene (PE) is the most commonly produced and used plastic polymer in the world. PE has good chemical resistance and is typically translucent and waxy in nature. We have various products made of polyethylene, from buttress screw caps with Flexspout to spill decks. PET bottles have a maximum hot fill temperature of 120°F.

This appears to be a solid product. Simple but practical. It will be used to convert a 55 gallon plastic drum into a convenient and controlled water source for a garden.

I broke my old spigot for my camping water jug, this was the perfect replacement, works great, no leaks or issues.

So far this has worked as a replacement for the original spigot valve that broke on our Aquatainer. Half the price cheaper than buying one the Aquatainer 'Repair kits.
