We own a Flowtron BK-15D Bug Zapper that has been humming along for about 3 years until the original lamp bit the dust and needed replacement. Satisfied with the lifespan, we ordered the recommended genuine Flowtron BF-35 lamp from Amazon.Removing the old lamp was simple, just push back a plastic tab and swing open the base door; Easy enough and the spent bulb pulled straight out.Inserting the new tube was straightforward until it came time to replace the bottom swing access door.It would not close.We pressed as hard as we dared, making sure the base was fully socketed but the door still would not secure.So we removed the lamp and compared with the original. Aha! The new one is a tad longer.That explains why some reviewers claim it will not fit while other people report having trouble with installation.Undaunted, by the fitness challenge, we whipped out the trusty heat gun and gently warmed the door flaps just enough to bend them back and provide sufficient pressure to hold securely in place and still replace the access hatch.Evidently, other customers are getting replacements that are the same length as the oriiginal, going by the reviews. Perhaps this size issue rarely occurs. In any case, we have provided photos of both the old and new bulbs, showing the length difference. Flowtron has stated the BF-35 lenth in a few listings as being 7 1/2 inches. Most generic brand replacements list their size as 7.56 inches. Our new Flowtron bulb measured 7.72 inches.It is too early to report lifespan as we just got it in, but the brightness and color closely match the original.In conclusion, be prepared to deal with the length issue if you order this lamp. Perhaps Flowtron has a replacement door to accomodate longer length. Maybe yours will fit fine. And maybe you have a trusty heat gun ready to make it fit.Happy zapping!

But these have always worked for me in the past, make sure the solenoid is functioning by removing lid, and looking for a 1 inch piece of glass, if it's not clear more than likely it's not the bulb

The price was right the shipping was fast and my yard has been over run with mosquitos this year since we've had record rainfall. I found my old bug zapper in the shed and it didn't work so I took out the bulb figuring this was worth a shot and yup I'm using my compressor to blow all the dead mosquitos out of this every two days minimum.
