Pretty nice tool to have in your tool belt as a network admin. Simply detects light on a fiber strand. No more, no less. You'll need a more feature rich (expensive) tool to really troubleshoot fiber issues, but if you just need to make sure there is light making it through your fiber, this works great.

this was a costly purchase but it does not have a light to trace fiber and that is what I was looking for.

Have this device for about a week now. I work in a complete fiber environment and this really saves time. If you work with a fiber heavy network, definitely should have in your tool kit. Its work the money.

Instructions could could be better, went to company website to view videos on usage.Needs a lanyard or wrist band not everyone wears a shirt with a pocket in which to put the device.Lightbeat feature is stupid and makes it confusing, when all it does is tell you that it’s about to power off.

This tester is simple to use and very helpful when all you need is to see if the fiber has a good connection.
