I originally used the simple plastic clamp type since I’m no good at soldering and the proximity of the positive and negative leads are extremely close together on the LED strip. Anyway, one by one the crappy clamp type came a little loose and sections of my lights would dim or completely loose power. Not to mention the poor connection would create excess heat and in some instances leave burn marks. Low voltage doesn’t mean it’s incapable of generating enough heat to start a fire. Use this clamp type or learn to solder. Maybe there are a quality clamp type out there but none I could find on Amazon. They all sell for the same price and seem exactly the same.

Went with the 3M adhesive product rather than cheaper versions. Hoping it holds up inside a vehicle.

Please remove these as a recommendation for the COB LED light strips sold by Amazon. They are not compatible.I’m sure they are great for connecting other tape lights.
