EDIT: 9/9/24: The seller reached out right away and offered to send us a new hoverboard free of charge, and paid for shipping to return the original broken hoverboard (not cheap because those things are heavy). After receiving the new one, we charged it up and tested it for several days before updating this review. It's working perfectly, and kids of varying weights and sizes have used it on both flat surfaces and hills. It's working great and seems super functional and sound. Thank you to the seller for making it right! They communicated well and took swift action. Definitely recommend reaching out if you happen to have an issue.ORIGINAL REVIEW: This hoverboard was fun while it lasted, but unfortunately broke after less than 6 months of light usage. My daughter got it for Christmas but didn’t really use it until this summer, and even then probably spent a collective four hours on it (maybe less). A friend was using it just now and heard a loud crack, and stumbled off the hoverboard onto the asphalt. We looked down to find a huge split in the plastic right in the middle of the hoverboard. It’s irreparable. This boy weighs about 80lbs so this definitely wasn’t a weight issue. He was on a flat surface without and rocks or impediments in the way. I’m just grateful he wasn’t seriously injured. We are very disappointed in the quality. Something like this should be sturdy and last longer than a few months. We have kept it stored inside in a controlled environment so I can’t for the life of me think why the plastic broke so drastically.

This product shows no longer available so I am not sure if many customers have experienced the same thing as I but I have followed all troubleshooting and am getting nowhere and cannot get in touch with the company. Gave this to my son for Christmas of 2023 and have used less than a dozen times (indoors) before it stopped working. Waste of money.

When I buy it , it was originally for my kids. However, on the user guide it said support up to 177lb (~80KG) so I tested it in my garage, moves smooth without problem. Tested in backyard, no issue. Great design, nice and sturdy. So much fun. Around 9 months the plastic inside started crumbling so that the heavy duty metal fittings had nothing to screw into. This was after very regular use, all indoors.
