I've been down the road of cheap Chinese hooks before, but this gamble turned up a winner. Firehole sticks are my go-to hook, but at the same price and nearly 3x the quantity, I thought I would give these a try. They are not quite as nice as Firehole sticks or some of the other high-end hooks but they are totally worth it. However, they run a size smaller. So if you're looking for size 14, buy size 12. Other than that, a great value that will likely go away in the event of a trade war with China. So stock up while the gettin's good.

These hooks are much improved over the first batch of these I tried years ago. They seem stronger and the hook points sharper. I received a #8 midge pupa type hook which I find useful and versatile for fly tying. I included a photo of a balanced bugger and an oversized "albino wino" Pyramid Lake midge.This is something a lot of tyers may not actually know: these curved midge hooks work pretty well for small balanced leeches. I was able to tie a #8 balanced bugger/leech simply by attaching the post for the bead further up the shank. If you don't use these you are missing out on a great fly for trout. IMO, the balanced bugger often works better than a straight wooly bugger.These hooks still seem a little softer than a premium hook like Daiichi or Tiemco so I want to test them on a big fish over 5 lbs. If they hold up, I'll up my rating to 5 stars and buy a whole lot more of them.

Very sharp hooks And a very strong I use it for bluegill and crappy size 14, is a 12 I Have caught bass on them too pricewise you can’t beat it
