I used this to cut some custom foam inserts for a piece of furniture I built. Initial use was a bit clunky as this was my first time trying the item. Good thing I used a scrap piece of foam to start off with. Once I learned the temp/speed ratio, I had very smooth cuts through the foam and almost made it look like it was done by a machine. You do need to keep the tip clean. The review asked about temp control and well I haven't found that option yet. wide open seems to work pretty well for my application so far.

My neighbor borrowed this a few times for his village because he has the old school kind with some kind of weird handle..This thing is professional and carves like a charm if you want to make any kind of cool cuts or stairs, this will do it..Gets hot super fast and is easy to use easy to clean look more could you ask for

I love this tool! Does exactly what’s it’s meant for. Cut through foam with no issue. Just wish it had a ready or green light so it’s easier to see when it’s reached the correct temp for cutting

This is a very neat kit! Comes with everything I need to cut through foam and make nice crafts with them!I really enjoy how simple and yet how cleaver this is! It cuts though foam like it was butter! Very neat kit… very useful to have! I really enjoy using it. It does everything I need it to do with regards to foam cutting. Very good!

I purchased this for a project to cut styrofoam. It worked great for about an hour, and then the heating element significantly dropped temperature. It was no longer smoking (when it was cutting through the styrofoam like butter) and suddenly it was like trying to scoop frozen solid ice cream with a straw. It still kinda worked, but the residue was sticking to the heating element and it was taking twice as long to cut. Not very happy. I would steer anyone wanting a heated knife away from this product.

Psa Use in a well ventilated areaUsed this to shadow my toolbox, great tool. Easy to use, faster than cutting with boxcutter. Edges aren't as sharp bit still a great tool. Especially for bigger boxes.
