As its name suggests it indeed is a high density foam, therefore I made the mistake of using it as a back rest for my patio cushions and its just a bit too hard for me as there is no give in the seating. its great to be used if you want to sit on it as it is firm and solid but no great a back rest.

May have gotten a few inches thicker than needed but works for now still stops the pain In my body from becoming to bad allows me to sleep a little better than I did before. Will think of readjusting when this one wears down some so I don't waste money.
