Once out of the package, they were straight forward to assemble, instructions weren’t the best but easily figured out. If you can, make sure to attach to the cross bars then put the whole assembly up on the vehicle to save time. Best part of the product is the ability to remove the carriers in case of inclement weather like snow and ice to protect the foam.

The product shipped with only half the bolts in packaging and the ones that were loose were damaged. The design itself is what I expected.

If you have a Gazelle Tents product, you know how massive they are when collapsed. I bought these to be able to secure them on my roof instead of having to throw them inside my Jeep, & it has worked perfectly so far on our last 2 camping trips. Great bang for the buck & easy to put together.

There’s a distinct lack of decent instructions but they’re really easy to fit. The arms once folded out feel solid and strong.I was concerned that the tightening bolt pushes the bracket all the way closed on both sides but the shake test moved the bar and car so they’re sturdy enough.Have yet to carry the kayaks on them but will report back when we have.

Insufficient padding allows kayaks to be scrached/gouged, especially if there average sized/to small for these racks. Padding rips off easily. If you have ladder racks additional hardware will be required. I do like the folding system works great. Could be better if it locked open. Sometimes gets nocked shut when loading

After using these for several months, I can say that I am very pleased with the quality! I have lost some of the foam on one of the racks, but I definitely put them through a lot of stress and the foam is easy to replace. All and all, I do recommend. The folding down capability is 10/10.

The center hole dimensions are incorrect and doesn't fit my application. Asked for a return and seller was incredibly rude, lacked property communication, and refused to provide return label. Amazon covered the purchase with the A-Z guarantee. Won't purchase from this seller again.

I recently purchased the folding J bar kayak roof rack for my van and I couldn't be happier with my purchase! The rack was easy to install and fits perfectly on my roof. The J bars are sturdy and hold my kayak securely in place, even on windy days. These kayak racks came right before our camping trip and got our kayaks safely to the lake. A couple of tie downs were missing from the package. I was able to use other tie downs, but I would have really liked the ones that should have come with the kayak holders. However, it seems the only option through Amazon was to return the entire package, which we did not have time to do. I guess that is a problem with Amazon, not the seller. Also, loading the kayaks for our return trip, the foam around one of the metal brackets ripped rather easily. Still, I would recommend these racks. They look nice and function as they are meant to. Also, the fold-down feature is great.

The straps are not long enough to secure the kayak to the rack. Some of the foam on the rack came off after the first time using it. I do like how the rack fold down when not in use. I had to buy new straps. The fit is not perfect on the Nissan Rogue roof racks. They sit a bit crooked.
