Using a foot switch ensures your safety and saves time looking for an off switch. Hands-free woodworking machine control means that both hands are on your work for safety and control.
The pedal is a spring-loaded safety switch. Just press and hold to turn on, lift your foot from the pedal to turn off the tool. (Not variable speed). Simply plug the foot switch into the power outlet and plug the tool into the socket of the pedal. This is a momentary foot switch, which means that it turns your product on when your foot is on the pedal, and turns it off when you release your foot from the pedal.

My old foot switch quit working, so I purchased this one to replace it. This one is not quite as beefy, but it seems to be holding up well so far, and I use it for hours at a time. It is lightweight, though, and I had to use a cable holder to keep it in place on a block I use to raise it up to a comfortable level. Without the holder the power cord had a tendency to move around.

I use the on a meat grinder while grinding directly into meat tubes, works great for stopping the grinder once the tube is full.

this is second time purchasing this product. it works great, just like described. i use it for the shop vac at salon to sweep hair up to and not having to use dust pan. very convenient. only slight issue with the durability of product. had not been a full year and it already had to be replaced. was it due to the amount of use? not sure. good thing was inexpensive and since have prime, no delivery fee. cords came detached inside foot unit. could be an easy fix and would have back up just in case.

At the suggestion of a friend, I recently picked up this switch to use with my table saw. It works perfectly well. You step on the petal to power the saw and remove your foot to let the saw wind down.This proved very fortunate recently as I was cutting some small, thin pieces of wood. I took my foot off the saw and took a step to my right, at which point the table saw kicked one of the cut pieces back into my stomach.I ended up with a bruise and a Lesson, but I had stepped off the switch and the saw was running at no more than 1/3 of its full power when it tossed the wood back my way. This switch was the difference between a bruise and a trip to the hospital.In general I am very careful with the table saw but accidents can happen and the ability to cut power to the saw buy stepping off this switch is invaluable.

Unit works good for my portable bandsaw but cord is only 5 ft. It's too short to make it to floor.

Bought this to use with an electric log splitter. While it does work, I ended up returning it as it seems very light duty. Probably great for indoor use but i was concerned it wouldn't hold up while using it outside
