Exactly as described. Surprisingly radiates some heat nicely. Definitely more than before it was placed in the fireplace. Arrived in one piece, no issues... It’s a solid chunk of metal. Details are as good as the picture. Weighs a lot so you may need two people to move it inside?

A fireback arrived today. While we ordered the Forest Fox Cast Iron Fireback, we actually received the Deer Cast Iron Fireback from the same manufacturer. It's really nice, quite heavy, and might actually be better for our space given how tall our log grate is.I wonder if we can get a price adjustment from Amazon.

I used this a s a black splash for a kitchen range and its beautiful, however, the fireback needed to be flat against the wall. I’m assuming that because of the nature of the material, the first one that I ordered was warped too much to sit flat against the wall. The second wasn’t perfect, but worked.
