I added these to the battery chargers I use for hand tool battery packs. I have heard the horror stories of fires resulting from poorly designed chargers and battery packs. Now I can pop the battery on the charger, push a button, and walk away. The timer removes power to the charger after a few hours so I do not have to worry about the fire hazard of accidentally leaving a battery unattended on a live charger in the garage or basement. They work great for this and I will buy more of these timers if I find that I need more chargers.

This is a review for the Fosman Minutes Countdown Plug-in Timer outlet. The most unusual thing about this timer is you can combine multiple buttons. If you're familiar with binary math, you will feel quite at home with the numbers 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32. You have to push the multiple buttons within a second or two. If you wait too long, when you push another button it no longer adds to the timer but overrides the previous choice. There is no remaining time indication. Once you push the button(s) to set the time, those buttons remain lit until the time expires, at which time the outlet turns off. I use this with a 750W space heater so I won't accidentally leave it on when I leave the room. So far so good.

The timer is perfect for my needs. Now I can leave the shop fan on, and know that it will shut off when I'm walking out the door.

All I have used so far has been the 1-minute button, but that is enough to make it a 5-star item.

Uses about 0.65 watts when not supplying power to devices. An old name-brand socket timer I have uses 0W (immeasurably little power). I believe part of this power draw is constantly charging the NiMH battery mentioned in the product listing, but the power draw never reduces. Constant trickle charging will kill a NiMH battery in 1-3 years, at which point this timer will stop remembering its settings during a power failure or it might stop working entirely depending how it's designed.Of equal concern is that the NiMH batteries will be damaged by leaving the timer unplugged for a prolonged period. They've purposely made the batteries very difficult to replace by closing the case with unusual 3-point security screws embedded in a deep shaft that's too narrow to reach with standard security screwdriver bits.Other than the "designed to fail" mentality of the product, the battery does drive an internal timer that will repeat or continue whatever time settings you provide, and being able to quickly set time in 15 minute increments by pressing various button combinations is a great design.

Fast and easy Binary time selection. (1,2,4,8,16,32 minutes, press more than one buttons times add together) Easy to see Buttons. Time selections illuminate when pressed. Time can be canceled with a single button. Great for appliances that can accidental be left on. I use it on a grille for breakfast sausages. Timer ends, sausages are done!

I use this ‘125V, 15A, countdown timer with 2 grounded outlets’ to be certain to power off a reading lamp and an electric blanket after a certain amount of time, even if I’ve fallen asleep. It has proven to work very well for this, and any similar, purpose. The operation of the device is pretty unique. Of course it has an on/off override button for instant activation / deactivation, but to operate the timer press (and illuminate) any combination of the number-labelled buttons (within 2 seconds each time) and the timer will countdown and turn off after the sum of that amount of time. You can be as accurate, or as random, as you wish... but if you quickly press all of those numbered buttons (like a prankster might in an elevator) the timer will be set for the maximum 63 minutes.I like the fact that timer program is backed up by an internal battery and erased influenced by a power failure. The device also has a repeat button which will turn the outlet ‘on’ [ and later ‘off’ ] at the exact time it is first pressed, once each day. This feature would be helpful as a security measure to turn on a lamp for a period of time at night when away from home... or to brew that morning cup of coffee. The ETL certification logo means that the product meets the standards established by UL as tested by ‘Electrical Testing Laboratories’.

Does exactly what you’d expect of a digital timer, but may not do it the way you expected. This took a bit of getting used to and re-reading the instructions to get the full capabilities to use. This is way more than a simple electrical timer with several programming advantages once you get use to it.

Despite the quirky control mechanism, these do work perfectly as designed. They can be a great option for quickly setting a power timer without needing to remember what app to use or to figure out how to program. Just push the buttons to get the time you need and you're done!

This is a simple plug in timer without any wifi/smart features, relying only on the built in pushbuttons for programming.I call it quirky because of its time selector using binary arithmetic; the interface must've been designed by an engineer. The product is ETL listed and the relay can apparently switch 15 amps, although I would not max it out especially if the load inductive. Power consumption with relay on is about 0.6W.Recommended if you're looking for a countdown plug especially for short durations.

I received an indoor count down timer. This timer might come in handy if you have electric items that you would like to turn off after a fixed length of time, or alternatively, turn on and then off once per day. This timer plugs into a wall receptacle and it controls two receptacles that are built into it. This timer is somewhat unique in that it utilizes push buttons to set the count down time, each with a predefined length of time. To select a time that is not listed on one of the buttons, one can push two or more button, and the selected time is the sum of all the buttons. I found this reasonably simple, but if you have trouble adding numbers, this might seem like a lot of bother. This setup also limits the usefulness of this timer to times of 63 minutes or less. The timer can count down once, or there is a repeat button that will count down your selected time once every 24 hours, and when I tested this, it worked well. This timer has ETL certification, which means it has undergone an inspection for electrical safety, and I confirmed this on the ETL web site. Overall, a unique style of timer, one that is limited to fairly short times, but it does this well.
