About this item

  • Quick and inexpensive way to achieve macro focus; Any combination of tubes can be used for various reproduction ratios
  • No optical insert - maintains lens optical quality while remaining lightweight
  • Extension tubes are designed to enable a lens to focus closer than normal
  • Includes: camera and lens mounts, 7mm, 14mm and 28mm tube sections
  • Limited 2-year manufacturer warranty

A macro extension tube is a wonderful substitution to expensive macro lenses. It maintains the original optical quality while transforming the lens into a macro lens. It is far more desired then the add-on close-up lenses, which will alter the optical quality. The extension tube will work with all Sony NEX E-Mount cameras and lenses.
The camera mount coupling adapter and lens mount coupling adapter can be used independently of the extension tubes or you can add in the tubes for extreme Macro photography. Because no other optical components are added with this kit, the image preserves the original optical properties of the lens. This is an affordable and simple way to turn your existing lens into a MACRO LENS. This tube set includes a lens-coupling ring and a body-coupling ring; three extension tubes of various sizes are also included to build up to the desired magnification. Life size image can be achieved with this set up. See details specification at the table below. Specs are based on a 50mm f1.4 lens.

I purchased 4 different version of this adapter for my Sony NEX-7. I have posted the same review for all 4 of them.1- Contax- G2, The fit is great on both camera and lense side and I did not notice any IQ degradation. The focus ring initially was a bit hard to work. Partly because the ring is close to the body and there is not much room. The lense also requires some torque to move the internal parts. But after I played with it attached to the lens but off the camera it losend up. Take your time attaching the lense to the adapter not to damage the focusing mechanism. Those of you who have this lense know why. I just wanted to remind you.2- Canon, The fit on the camera side has a bit of rotational play but dose not seems to effect the Proformance the lense side is perfect. I dont have recent canon lenses. My canon lens is very old, 70's 50 mm 1.4, no issue with the IQ. This was the first lense I ever bought. With a AT1 body.3- Leica M39, Both side fit is great but some some color aberrations on the edges. Not sure if I can fix it in LR.4- Nikon, The fit is great on both side. Great IQ no issues at all. I have an extensive collection of AFS and AF 2.8 and pro quality lenses as well as some kit lenses that I have collected as they came with backup cameras I purchased from time to time. So far any one that I have tried worked with out any issues.Over all the adapters are well made and great buy. Hope this help...

Inexpensive, no-frills, works as advertised. If you have a 21st century E-mount camera and have access to C/Y SLR lenses, this will bring them back to life. Of course, they will still be 20th century lenses, manual focus, manual aperture control. But some things (like riding the proverbial bicycle) you don't forget. The Sony NEX-6 makes using manual focus lenses surprisingly easy with its readily-accessible MF mode (enlarged center view in the finder with focus peaking highlighting). It would be very interesting indeed to see how this works with the just-announced, not-yet-shipping Alpha A7/A7r full frame cameras. In theory, it should work fine -- and a 50mm SLR lens will actually be 50mm effective focal length. Of course, the devil is always in the details, and the physical depth of this adapter may lead to vignetting and softness in the edges of the image when in full frame mode. Only time will tell. On an APS-C sensor camera (NEX-5/6/7) you are in crop mode (a 50mm normal SLR lens is effectively a 75mm portrait lens) and seeing only the center of the image anyway, so corner sharpness isn't a problem. One quirk of this unit is that the tripod mount is not at a 6 o'clock position aligned with the bottom plate of the camera when fitted to my NEX-6. Doesn't bother me, but be aware. There may well be some sample to sample variations in these puppies.

I just recently made a purchase of the Fotodiox Pro Lens Mount Adapter, which features a focusing barrel and enables the use of Mamiya RB67 and RZ67 lenses on Sony E-Mount mirrorless cameras. This adaptor has been a surprise for me as a commercial photographer who is always looking for ways to differentiate my work. From the moment I opened the packaging, I was impressed by the adapter's construction quality. My cherished Mamiya lenses are now able to transfer their one-of-a-kind personality to a digital format without having to make any sacrifices in terms of stability or focus accuracy all thanks to this sturdy and precisely fitting accessory.Through the utilization of this adapter, my creative horizons have been greatly expanded. Now that I have access to the advanced digital features of my Sony camera, I am able to take use of the distinct image quality and depth of field that Mamiya lenses provide. My ability to distinguish myself in a competitive market that places a high value on individual visual styles is made possible by this one-of-a-kind combo.Furthermore, the focusing barrel on the adapter is smooth and precise, which enables tiny manual focus changes. These adjustments are essential when attempting to achieve ideal sharpness in professional shoots. Because of this, I have been able to explore new avenues in photography. I am now able to combine the advantages of modern digital technology with the aesthetics of old optics, which not only sets my work apart but also serves as a topic of conversation with both my clients and my peers. It can be concluded that the Fotodiox Pro Lens Mount Adapter is an indispensable piece of equipment for any photographer who is interested in utilizing their traditional lenses with the most recent advancements in camera technology. By giving my old, reliable Mamiya lenses a new lease on life in the digital age, it has unquestionably enabled me to differentiate myself from the rest of the pack. Individuals that place a high priority on creativity and quality in their photographic work are strongly encouraged to consider this.

I read a lot of good reviews about this product before I purchased it. It was on sale, so I figured I'd give the tubes a shot.Even though I read that it had no electrical connections, I thought I could still change the settings for light, or at least be able to see the manual settings I'm used to seeing. Nope.I'm going to be buying a better quality macro lens when I can. I don't mind adjusting focus manually, but with this lens it was less than a millimeter between in focus and out of focus, and then I had to figure out WHERE the focus was--in the picture, even though I was trained on the center flower, the lens chose the bud above the flower to focus on. Either that, or I was breathing.Maybe I still need to play with it, but I've gotten better macro shots with my telephoto lens in manual. Also, I didn't like that I had to "fix" my lens with the camera turned on, and then take the lens off to put the tubes on. I do not like switching lenses with the camera on.I've used these tubes for maybe 20 minutes. Those 20 minutes made me want to trash them. Lesson learned.

The threads aren't clocked properly, so your lens mounts at a weird angle. Not a big deal, but awkward for changing lens settings.
