In warm weather months (Central Texas) I tend my garden at night (hand water, weed, etc.). What with a hose in one hand and some garden tool in the other, I need both hands free. So over the past 5 years or so, I've gone thru a variety of headlamps, and this one by Foxelli is far and away the best I've ever had. 160 lumens is more than enough for my night-time gardening (it's surprisingly bright). It also has a red-light option which seems of limited use to me. I suppose it can have some safety value such as for bicycle riding, but there are a great many devices in the market which offer similar or better solutions, attaching to your bike and possibly at a better cost to lumens ratio.A drawback for any bright white light headlamp is that bugs will fly directly at your face. In my experience, it can be disconcerting to get whacked in the forehead by a June bug. Don't know if or how much the red headlamp beam would be invisible to bugs, but Foxelli should consider replacing it with yellow. The red beam is too dim for my nocturnal gardening while a yellow light would be brighter and is best at not attracting insects.The ability to easily adjust the light beam from straight-on to a selection of downward angles is a VERY important feature for me. If I bend down or squat to see what's happening at the base of some plants, I need the light beam directed straight forward, else it will focus on the dirt. But when walking around in an erect posture, I need to adjust the beam to a downward angle, else I'm constantly bobbing my head up and down. Foxelli has this feature, providing a selection of 3 increasingly downward angles, and importantly these adjustments involve ratchet-like clicks which seem very firm and solid, likely to hold up under frequent use (or constant use in my case).Lastly, after sufficient light intensity and directability, comes comfort and convenience. And again Foxelli succeeds where others have not done well. The secret to comfort is the headlamp itself being as light in weight as possible. The Foxelli device weighs so little it is easily supported by a single strap. The strap is an inch wide and sufficiently elastic to hold position without drooping or requiring excessive (and uncomfortable) tightness to prevent droop and slippage. Easily adjusted, the strap fits snug and comfortable. And the key to convenience is the rechargeable battery. I plugged the included foot long USB cable between the micro port on the headlamp and a standard USB 2.0 port on my computer. It chargd up in a reasonably short time.So, other than that red light feature which is of no practicle use to me (but may be helpful to you), the Foxelli headlamp has no weaknesses and does everything you could want - and does it well. I highly recommend it.

I bought this headlamp to have a cheap work headlamp that I was not afraid to get dirty and wet. My plan was to use this headlamp for work and save my nice black diamond headlamp for camping. I now only buy and use these headlamps.The headlamp is sturdy and has buttons for both red and white, which is really nice for nighttime!I work on the water, and this headlamp has held up well on tumbles and in the salty environment.

I bought this for my wife for a recent camping trip. It charged quick and she loved the color. The light throw was impressive and it is certainly more spot than flood. The button are nice and easy to touch and the band fit her well. No issues. If I could change anything I would have the spot but then another setting for a bit more of a flood throw. She had no complaints though and it served her well in camp.

Love this for my walks at night, I live in a rural area so I like the red light so I don’t scare the deer, and to be seen without being too bright for on coming traffic, my neighbors tell me they can definitely see me, too! Being rechargeable is a huge plus for me, because I was going through a lot of batteries! The white light is nice and bright for working on stuff leaving my hands free, great light!!

Product works well, and does what it is supposed to do. Light is bright, and can be angled to shine where needed.
