After trying several other headlamps, I ordered a pair of these, and was pleasantly surprised. I needed a headlamp to help my aging eyes for my hobby of wood carving... After experimenting with its many settings and combinations, I settled on one which was terrific and lit up my work area perfectly. The Motion detection for an ON & OFF switch was very convenient and worked well.I have not experimented with the other light / lamp combinations which the Headlamp is capable of as yet. One great feature was the charging and rechargeability of this lamp, which is easy and convenient... No need to replace batteries!. I was surprised at the reasonable this (PAIR) of headlamps was priced at. The 2 Lamps came in two individual boxes , each containing a USB charging cable and instructions .I kept one, and gave the other to a friend. The instructions were very basic... You will need to experiment with the multiple settings and combinations. I recommend this quality product. JayC.

I teach wilderness skills in the Poconos, and I'm out solo a lot as well. I just shared a sale on these to a "Wilderness & Hiking Skills for All" group I manage online, for good reason. Here's part of what I wrote there:These are the headlamps I use - relatively inexpensive even without being on sale, reliable, as bright as a car's high beams, comfortable and don't fall easily, lightweight, with different modes. I sometimes tuck them into the belt of my waist pack to keep the light below my eyes and save night vision, changing to the red beam for that on occasion even though I'm not really a fan of red light. They work fine then as well, and the headstrap rigs well to secure them. They last a long time - more than a year, and apparently until I lose them or give them away, and they hold a charge well. Carrying two, with a little battery pack to recharge the one not in use, will last all night even on the brightest setting and near the solstice's longest nights.

I like to use these when doing jobs where I need extra light and only use them on the brightest mode. I'm happy with them but deducted one star for a few points listed below. Overall these are not deal breakers and I probably would have still bought them knowing the negatives. Other commenters have also shared similar information so this shouldn't be new if you've read other reviews.Pros:Lightweight. Sufficiently bright on the highest setting. (That's all I use.) USB-C rechargeable. The listing only mentions USB rechargeable and USB-C is preferred. Sold as two to a pack which is needed if you're working for more than a few hours. Having the second unit allows me to wear one while the other is charging. More on charging in the cons section below.Cons:Battery life is around 2 hours on full charge. It is definitely not the 4-10 hours as advertised. it also seems to take over an hour to fully charge (might be closer to 2hrs?) I also have a high speed USB-C charger so the speed is not due to the charger. The head strap is stretchy which is good but the tightening buckle could have better grip. I wear my headband rather loose but if you were hiking or climbing and wanted it tighter, the strap might slowly slip through the buckle. You can easily tighten and loosen the strap just by sliding the buckle along the strap. Auto on/off motion sensor is overly sensitive so I don't use it. I have had it accidentally turn off just by walking through a doorway or getting close to an item I'm working on.

These are plenty bright in spotlight mode. The lower settings are better for power saving. I get over an hour of use on the brightest setting, probably double that on the flood mode. The flashing and red modes are not useful for my purposes, maybe you will find a use for them. I do like that you don't have to cycle through every mode to shut the light off like other lights I have used, just hold the mode button down. The motion detection is more gimmicky if you ask me, and very annoying to use if you are near any object. It will shut off when you move your head. This function will be more useful for open areas and if you need to turn it on and off frequently. The lights charge fairly quickly. The headband is moderately comfortable to wear, but I admittedly don't like wearing any headgear. In all it's very useful when using in the modes correct for the application.

I wish I had thought about these before. So many uses. Hands free. It took a little getting use to but when I'm trying to look in the lower cupboards or closets it sure helps. Out in the storage sheds. Cutting my dogs toenails (mine too for that matter) and polishing my nails thats where the adjustability came in handy.I went outside with my dog one night, that wasn't so great I didn't think about light attracts bugs lol. I use the hand held flashlight for that now. They hold their charge really well but I don't use it as much as some people might. I gave my grandson one as he is out after dark walking home from the metro bus stop. Or if he's out later than planned on his skateboard or bike. Several modes which can be handy..

I LIKE THESE A LOT. I like the solid red lamp for lighting the tent at night without irritating tent mates, and I like the array of choices of lighting as well. Way better than our standard headlamps of yesterday. I also like that these are rechargeable, and, THESE HAVE INDICATOR LIGHTS TELLING YOU THE CHARGE STATUS. I can't even say how much I appreciate knowing pretty accurately how much juice I have left, instead of guessing with battery powered lamps. I will definitely only buy rechargeable lamps in the future. There's also a function on these where you can wave your hands in front of the light and it turns the light on and off. Not sure what the designer was doing to warrant this function, but it's extremely irritating. As I was looking through gear at night the light flicked on and off every time I reached for something or my hands crossed the beam. Maybe it's for walking a trail and then suddenly going dark? Maybe for hunting. Hard to say.
