I installed this when it got coldest and and it worked right away, then for a few days it gushed when it got freezing THEN it has been slow drip for a MONTH.Zero temperatures and it’s fast drizzling for a week now. Has a big ice berg but the drizzle keeps it from blocking the drizzle! It is protective of the freezing winds. Hasn't grown, this was formed gradually from when it initially gushed. I want others to be patient. Because it seems to simply be adjusting and may take about a week. Great value an easy to install!

After much deliberation over the course of two years, I ultimately decided to purchase three units of this product, and I must say, the experience has been exceedingly satisfactory. Upon installation on my residence, the product demonstrated its efficacy when temperatures descended to 32 degrees Fahrenheit. True to its advertised capabilities, I observed the unit begin to drip as expected, a clear indication of its operational integrity. During the subsequent freeze, the product performed flawlessly, providing me with a significant sense of peace of mind. This reliability amidst challenging weather conditions underscores the value of the investment. Given my positive experience, I wholeheartedly recommend this product to others in search of a dependable solution for temperature-related issues. The seamless functionality and effective performance during adverse conditions affirm that this is a worthwhile addition to any home, particularly for those living in climates prone to freezing temperatures.

I have 3 of these that were bought at the end of the 2023-24 season, so they never really got tested. This season (24-25) we had temps down to 14° and many nights below freezing. Even a 3 day period where temps never got above freezing. Since I live in south-central Texas out temps really fluctuate in winter and it was a pain to go outside to put covers on the spigots, or to let them drip, then remove the covers when needing to use the spigot. Using these with a Y allows me to install them and use the Y when I need water without removing them. They have worked flawlessly and drip much less water than when I would allow the water to drip manually. A little pricey, but worth it IMO.

This product really does the work!It operates smoothly and without have to adjust the “opening†when temperature drops, as in the case when you try to prevent the pipes to freeze by opening the faucets yourself. It adjust the amount of water to drop depending of the surrounding temperature. You just have to connect it to an external faucet and open it. This device has a temperature sensitive diaphragm that controls the amount of water to flow through it. So, when t temperature drops around 37 degrees it starts to allow water through it, if temperature decreases, the amount of water too.If you have this installed, there is no need to check in the middle of the night if the faucet covers are enough, or if the dripping water in the faucets is already frozen because you didn’t open the faucet enough. I just find that it saves a lot of water and gives you peace of mind.Piece of advice: check that the devices are doing the work with the first freeze of the season. I store my first purchased devices after the 1st freezing season, next freezing season one of the devices didn’t work (may be rusted? IDK), the other one worked perfectly. I just order a new pair and they are waiting stored for the next freezing season.

These worked good the first season. Next year there were problems with the plastic threads stripping and just no longer working. Soaked them in vinegar but that didn’t work.

This item already saved me from a pipe freeze. One pipe I dripped on the outside faucet the other had one of these . The pipe that was dripping when it hit 10 degrees froze up the other didn’t. Fortunately a heat gun unfroze the one pipe.

The hose bib on the front of my house sticks out several inches from the garage wall, which makes it difficult to wrap and insulated effectively. The pipe then runs up the outer wall of the garage in a space so tight that it is nearly impossible to get insulation all the way around it. Every time we have a hard freeze, a different section of the pipe freezes and breaks. I live in a rental, so there isn't much more I can do as a permanent fix. The last freeze we had, I just left the spigots on the outside trickling which did prevent frozen pipes, but made the driveway very slick with ice. I ordered these to try after my dad mentioned them, and we finally had a hard freeze to test them out. They work great! Now, we've only dropped into the upper 20s (F) overnight the last few nights and climbed into the low 40s during the day, so things haven't been as intense as our snowpocalype from 2021, BUT both mornings when I've gone out to check, the Freeze Miser was trickling a tiny bit of water steadily and by the afternoon it had stopped. I do have very hard water, and after reading other reviews who mentioned limited lifespan with hard water, I will probably plan to replace them after two years to be safe even though we typically only see one or two hard freezes a year.

Wow! These work GREAT! It is always amazing to me that smart people can up with a device that has no power supply but it mechanically opens at a certain tempurature and emits water then closes again. All mechanical. They arrived just before it turned COLD. We experienced weather in the teens and it came on and did what it was suppose to do. No frozen pipes!! It works! It is made in America. Great product!

We're currently experiencing the freeze/thaw cycles. Warm daytime and close to 0° C overnight temperature. The device works as designed by releasing a small amount of water overnight. The devices (2 pack) came in a plastic blister pack which was placed into a soft plastic shipping bag. All the corners of the blister pack were crushed! Luckily for me, the devices weren't damaged! The blister packaging did its job but why chance it?? Please ship them in a small cardboard box so that they'll arrive unscathed, to a customer!
