I was going to return my new Charvel due to fret sprout but I’m pretty handy so I thought I’d give it a go on my own to file the frets. This tool worked great and did an amazing job. I just took my time and now my guitar neck is super smooth and I don’t have to go through the hassle of returning it and getting another

Gets the job done. Value is good if you only need it occasionally.

Does what it's supposed to do and at a nice price.

It's a well made tool, no less expensive than it is, and comes with a small brush that works as I expected, so if you're new to this, take your time with it the first time around first!

This looks like the stewmac file, but both of the safe edges are rounded. There is no flat safe edge. Also the picture is deceptive. One of the images looks like a large leveling file that might be included with the file and brush, but it is an enlargement of the teeth on the file.

I've used this on both stainless and nickel. Has smooth edges unlike a standard file so it doesn't hack up the fretboard. I've used it for dressing fret ends and filing down high frets. I would have given it 5 stars if the handle was more durable. If you put a lot of pressure (like I foolishly did) the cheap plastic handle will crack. Mine didn't completely reak, but it's loose. The file part is actually pretty strong though. Its a very thin, small file which makes it perfect for cleaning up sharp fret ends.

I should have just made a trip to the dollar store and saved 30 bucks.
