I am so thankful for all of the Nomad setup tools. They take all of the guesswork out of the equation. You don't need setup tools at all. But, it's much easier to be working with a consistent reference point if you are truly looking to IMPROVE your experience.I use this tool at the bridge, as intended, but use a small light behind the gauge to visualize slivers of light appearing between the gauge and strings. There is a black paper "spacer" in the kit that I place underneath the strings near the bridge to prevent this light from splashing.

These work well for what they do and aren't unreasonably expensive. Haven't compared them to anything else yet for accuracy. The dark surface makes it easier to see light coming through gaps between the fretboard and the gauge than other lighter colored/stainless alternatives. Thinking about darkening my understring radius gauges to match.

I really like the build quality of this product, but I had a difficult time seeing when stings were correctly aligned with it.

About every fretboard radius in one pack. They seem pretty accurate. They are thin but not too flimsy so as long as they dont have anything heavy fall on them they should last without getting bent up.

I build guitars professionally, and after being frustrated with the unacceptable low quality of the so-called “industry standard†brand of luthier tools, I decided to pick up a set of these. These are better in every way. Because they’re black, any irregularities in the fretboard radius jump right out at you, making it easier to spot and address problems in your radius, there are no flat spots on these gauges, unlike the last 10 sets of gauges I’ve seen from that other brand, these are much easier to read, and they cost a lot less. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

I've acquired a good chunk of their products since I started working on my own instruments, and I'm sure I'll get more as time goes on.These radius gauges are accurate, convenient to store, clearly labeled, and durable. Bonus points for including the usage instructions on them, too. Very newbie friendly.
