Finish is excellent. Cutting edges are razor sharp. My drill press pulls almost .5 amps less on a 2†hole in 1†oak vs a generic equivalent bit. 2-1/8†is 2.125†on the money, not metric equivalent. Case is joined hardwood with high quality/density foam cut perfectly. There’s just nothing bad I can say about this set. You get what you pay for and this set is worth every penny. Ordered on Sunday, drilling holes on Wednesday. Buy a set ‘cause you can’t borrow mine!

I received my new Freud forstner bits in a nicely packaged wooden box. No unsightly labels or packaging, just plastic over the box. I immediately tried a new bit on some douglas fir wood. I was quite surprised that the 5/8" bit drilled a very precise, clean hole. With a caliper, I measured exactly 0.625". There is no comparison of these forstner bits to a spade or twist bit. If you're looking for precision, then I recommend this set. Remember, buy once, cry once. And enjoy the satisfaction of precision holes. I love these bits!

These arrived just in time to be used for a 3d printer spooling system I am building from thin plywood. I was able to easily cut out the holes for the pvc pipe to slide through and two smaller holes for bearings and all the holes were perfect with high dimensional accuracy. Just for fun, I cut a few larger holes in some scrap hardwood - quick, accurate, easy. These are far better than the big-box-store bits I have been using.Oh, the wooden box they come in is solid and makes for nice storage and organization. I am very pleased with this set.

The first set I received (Nov '22) did not live up to my expectations. I knew something was off, since I had already bought a few single Freud PB-100 bits in the past. Unlike the previous bits, which worked very well, the set I received consisted of bits that were not all that sharp, and lacked the serrated edges (flutes) on the outer cutting edges. And there were some burrs as well as some rust. Yikes! I returned this set for replacement. The next set was perfect. Nice and sharp, and with the serrated edges. I've been using these for awhile now and I really like them, and they seem pretty durable. So just be aware. I noticed that the shafts on the first set only had the bit size listed. The second set had the size, along with "Freud Austria" listed. I'm happy now, after the shaky start to this purchase experience.

Have only had these about a week. I chose them over the "regular" Freud bits just because I though they would cut better and were not that much more expensive. Have only used a couple of sizes in my drill press. Both were outstanding. We'll see how long they stay sharp as time goes along, but I'm betting I'll like these for a long time.

I've been looking for some Forstner bits to last (and not made you-know-where). These bits are razor sharp out of the box and work great. Serious quality. And a nice box. Buy once, cry once.

The bits are exactly what I would expect them to be and the box is very well made and organized. My only complaint would be, whoever shipped it didn’t give a crap and stuck a big shipping label right on the front of the box. I will get it off but it will take a lot of elbow grease and the decaling on the box underneath might not make it!

It drills round holes rather than oblong ones. It cuts the wood easily without requiring a lot extra effort.
