1000g x 0.01g Precision Balance - Let me start by saying I am an expert on balances. I have been working with them for many years in a professional setting. I have worked with every one of the top manufacturers and have purchased systems up to 6 places and costing over $100k . This is an amazing deal, and it over delivered in performance. I had low expectations when I bought it, but for the money, it was worth a shot. I am more than pleased. If this is suited to your application, don't hesitate to buy it. Out of the box, after warm-up and initial calibration, the results were outstanding. Using a calibrated weight set, readings were taken at 2g 10g 20 g 100g 200g 500g and 1000g. The results showed accuracy to be within .01g and .01g for repeatability. It has a moderate response time and is quick to settle and read. It does not have any options to change the speed of response or stability, but you would not expect that at this price, and for most applications, it is not needed.Don't listen to the negative response of the guy who thinks he knows what he is talking about because he absolutely does not. He states out of the box, it wasn't accurate. Well, you need to let it sit and acclimate to the environment for 15-30 minutes ( all balances need to do this ) then you need to do calibration using the included weight. You need to calibrate any time you move it and you may have to recalibrate at times should the environmental conditions change. Thats why you should check it every morning before you use and if it is not right on, recalibrate. If he did that, it would have been right on. Next, he states he is having trouble seeing changes when adding .01g of mass. If that's the accuracy he needs, then this is not the balance for him. He needs a .001 threes place balance. Not the balance fault. It is his for not understanding what he needs. Next, he states it was sent with the wrong weight. It needs 200g but sent 500g. Wrong again, you can use many different weights as it auto-senses and calibrates off the weight. For a 1000g balance, 500g is a good choice and was included. Finally, he states the bubble sensor is off and that is not the case again. He added some line levels to the case and said it doesn't match up to the bubble. he is assuming the case was manufactured and installed level to the load cell which it probably wasn't. Why would it be? You have a bubble level that was installed level to the loadcell so, use it. The only accurate statement in his review was that it was not the right accuracy for his application. This is not the fault of the balance. This balance performs to spec. He needed and different balance entirely. The product should have got 5 stars and his review should get one star.I have not been paid or coerced into providing this review. In fact, I have never talked to the company. I don't do many reviews but this was just so good and the value so strong I felt it was worth my time to pass on my experience.

I find it wonderful to be able to buy an accurate, functional electronic balance for this price. Unpacking and was simple, I have already used it in formulation work and it does the job well. It's too early of course to access it's longevity, but if it continues to work as is, I'm happy.

I have specific dietary needs and this scale has the accuracy and weighing capacity that I need for that job. The weighing pan is large enough for most needs in the kitchen. The LED seven segment display is bright and easy to read. I use the GRAM unit of measure, but you can also use ounces, pounds, etc. The scale also supports calculating a number of items based on the weight of one item. It is supplied with an AC adapter, but doesn't include batteries. I am happy with this purchase and I would recommend to anyone looking for a scale needing this weight capacity.

Needed an accurate - to 0.1gr - scale that also had a pretty high weight limit - like 5lbs - and is easy to use and easy to change from gr to oz. Did not seem like that big an ask but 5 other scales let us down. This one is well built, stable and a breeze to use.

Just out of the box and it's not going great. Using the included 500g mass the scale is measuring 499.91g. So the accuracy is 0.09 grams (i.e., the ability of the balance to measure close to a true value is just ok) the precision of the balance (i.e., its ability to reproduce the same measurement multiple times) does seem to be (0.01g). Ten measurements of the 500g mass range from 499.89 to 499.91. I also had problems with weighing small masses (0.01g). The scale would not record a change in mass for a bit as I added powder and then the reading would jump. The description states (and the manual does too) that the scale can be calibrated but the scale's built-in calibration function needs a 200g mass, which I don't have. Why doesn't the company include the mass one needs to calibrate the balance? TThe 2nd picture shows that the bubble level has low accuracy compared to the two line levels. The bubble in the two orthogonal line levels is in the middle but the bubble in the scale's spirit level is halfway outside/inside the center ring. So the scale was apparently calibrated to the bubble level (that's where the 500 g weight measured accurately) but if the scale was made level by the two line levels (and was parallel to the lab bench) the mass was way off.If I had a 200g mass I could have recalibrated but didn't have one. And the sensitivity of the scale was too low for my purposes. I ended up sending it back.

The power supply that came with it didn't work. Had to source one to make it work.

The original product and replacement weighing tray did not fit the spud on the scale. I wrote a negative review. As life would have it--Fristaden's shipment of a replacement scale was a bit slower (probably due to the condition of the world) that my review. This is to set the record straight: Fristaden completely made good on replacing the product and I am pleased to announce that the scale works perfectly and the accuracy is incredible. Thanks!
