We bought this scale over a year ago and it has worked perfectly. Out of nowhere it would not read anything but zero. We reached out to the company and they were so helpful! Some wires had come loose (our fault, not theirs). They walked us through how to fix it and it’s working perfectly again! Great product and great company!

1 year update:Still love it! We use it often to weigh show goats in the barn as well as weighing calves in an ally way. It’s perfect for both. 2 thumbs upLike a certain fast food franchise says….I’m loving it!I have been wanting a set of scales for a while but couldn’t afford to buy the full kit. Bought this one and super glad I did.I stole a previous reviewers idea of using wood. I did however weld the mounting brackets to a piece of flat bar and sunk those into the 4x4’s. Please don’t judge me by my carpentry skills.The unit was easy to wire together but there was a good bit of excess wiring to try to conceal. I could have shortened them for my application but who knows if you’ll need longer wires in the future. Tried to secure cables from the load cells where they were not being pulled on or at an angle. Wiring into the main unit was a cinch.We ran some 300-500 weight calves over it when we finished and it performed wonderfully. This summer we will also use it to weigh show goats and see no issues there.We used the super scientific calibration technique putting 2 sacks of feed on there as using it as 100. After calibration it still read 100 and one bag weighed 50 so I’m going to call it good and recommend you buy one as well

I ordered this scale for my daughters show lambs or anything else we might need to weigh in the barn. It arrived within a couple of days of our order. Packaged well and I feel the product is of great quality. The next day we both started and finished the build of our scale platform. (Note: this is a project. You will have to have some fabrication skills and general ingenuity to build a platform for the load bars of this scale) Anyhow, it does come with directions that were very easy to follow. They give you the ins and outs of how to attach the load bars to your platform of choice and there is a small amount of wiring that entails connecting wires in a junction box, but the directions are crystal clear on that as well. When your platform is all built and everything is buttoned up there is a small series of codes that you press on the scale face in order to calibrate your scale. This is very easy as well and if you have any questions the customer service number is big and bold right there on your directions page.In our case we did have to make that phone call. I must say the customer service was excellent! He answered our phone call right away, on a Sunday evening mind you, and between the conversation and a few text pics shot to him he troubleshot what we were doing wrong within minutes. Badda bing badda boom we have a working scale, and it has been doing its job ever since. Thank you again so much for your help and I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

We wanted a scale but spending $500+ was just not appealing. We used 4x4 metal tubing and 2x12" to create the frame. Ran the wiring and added side posts to keep the cattle from go off the sides. Overall, nice purchase and worth the money!

Product was as described, my only suggestion would be to give instruction's for calibration. I ended up finding it on YouTube.

Big kudos for their customer service. This is the second set of scales I've built, and the customer service and support I got from you guys the first time around was a major factor in my decision to buy from you guys again. When I bought my first set, I had some questions around mounting the load cells (I needed to know if re-tapping the threaded holes would impair the load cell's accuracy) and they were super helpful and responsive. It is because of that I chose to buy scales from A & A again. I use these scales to weigh small GA airplanes, and they've worked great so far - so much so I am building a second set of scales to expand business.

***UPDATE***After speaking with A and A scales they were able to help troubleshoot and explained how to fix the load cell that was giving me my problem. I would purchase from this company again and would recommend this to anyone trying to build thier own set of scalesBought to make a cattle scale for feeder calves. Scale works fine when a human gets on or off but when a calf steps on,the scale displays "nnnnnnnnnn" in all number positions. When calf steps off the scale it reads a large negative number. Have recalibrated this numerous times and again works fine for humans. Even checked max weight and it was 5000lbs. Calves are weighing roughly 900
