I use this tool primarily for pruning cactus here in AZ. An occasional snake handling tool but not too often used in that reguard. Yes, plenty snakes in AZ but they usually mind there own business if left alone... The "grabber" is extremely well constructed and would be difficult to wear out...

Quality frame but bolts fall out , lost locking lever and bolt nut within 30min of use. Lock function is too tight for any size snake, especially the 4 to 7 foot pine SNEKs! I am dealing with this year.

I bought this to replace a short plastic one that broke. This grabber is long and made of all aluminum. Nothing to break here. I use it everyday to pick up sticks and rocks out of the yard when mowing. It's so long I can easily reach things without getting off the mower. It clamps down tightly and yes it would be good for grabbing snakes, just haven't had that experience yet and don't care to. Well worth the money.

He was very nice at the first two months and broke . Cannot be fixed. The central rod or cable snapped. Not very good quality

I own several snake tongs including the expensive, professional one sold by Midwest. Here in Indiana, we have our share of poisonous snakes such as the copperheads, king cobras, rattlesnakes, and anacondas. This snake tong is more than adequate (length and build quality) to handle most common snakes. It’s robust enough to be used in herping, but I wouldn’t use this on heavy snakes such constrictors. Be very careful when dealing with venomous snakes. If you feel uncomfortable then call a professional.
