We thought our garbage disposal was broken and might need to be replaced, but before trying that, I was able to find this on Amazon - it was the exact part that we needed and it turned out it was the stopper that was broken, not the garbage disposal. We got rid of the old stopper and have had no issues. This saved us a lot of headache and expense. Would recommend as long as you have the right model disposal system.

This product is purported by the seller to be a replacement for Part No 74052 - it is a waste-disposal magnetic switch/plug. IT IS AT LEAST 0.5CM TOO WIDE TO FIT THE APERTURE IT NEEDS TO GO INTO.
