I waited wait too long to replace my disposer cover. The OLD one was very rigid so that nothing could get through it unless you pushed it through. It was also heavy and hard to clean. It didn't really fit all that well in the opening so that I was constantly pushing it in place. Then this wonderful lightweight sink baffle entered my life and made 100% difference! It was so easy to put in. I measured 3.25 inches for the opening, ordered 3.25 inch baffle - it is neither too tight nor is it too loose. I don't have to push icky leftover food into the disposer, just rinse the sink and it goes through the baffle. Holds perfectly well in place when running the disposal. It holds its shape by being flexible without being rigid. I guess I never really thought of replacing the old one until I just got annoyed it enough to look on Amazon to see if I could. I picked this one - and I am perfectly happy with it. Little things bring me joy :).

Very good and cheap replacement for the original one. Fits 100% as an original.But this one is softer than the original.Pro: you need less effort to put something into disposal.Cons: more noise; small things, such as teaspoons, can drop occasionally (the gasket is less hard...)

Years ago, when my disposal unit was replaced, it came with a new baffle/splash guard. I didn’t like the splash guard from the moment I started using it and would have kept my old one had it not been trashed. It was very hard to remove and reinstall when I wanted to clean it. Food would have to be pushed down through as most would sit on top of the guard. It seemed my sink would take a long time for water to drain, making me wonder what was causing this. The last time I removed the guard to clean, it was extremely difficult to reinstall. The material was degrading and becoming less pliable (it wasn’t that pliable in the first place). This prompted me to search for a better one.I saw a couple of good reviews on this one with explanations of the same difficulties they had with their previous splash guards. Now that I have purchased it, water is draining through properly, food goes through the guard easily, and it is very easy to remove, clean and reinstall as the material is more pliable. The only difference I noticed was it is not as good at baffling the noise, but not bad either and something I am already getting used to. The trade off is worth it. One might think that something might slip through the splash guard easier because the material is more pliable, but I haven’t had that problem.

I've had trouble finding a decent splash guard. The ones in stores don't drain well and you have hold a flap down to get the food to drain. I've also find them to be cheaply made and break after a few months. But not this one!! It fits perfectly and I've never once had to help the food drain down, pretty quick flow too!

Okay word to the wise aka non-sink experts, I had NO idea sinks were not universal in the drainage hole. Measure yours beforehand. These were too big for ours and we had to get a different size. Otherwise seems fine and arrived lickety split thanks to prime next day.

This sink baffle is a very good replacement for my old torn one. It was easy to install in my sink, and comes up very easily for cleaning. The baffle is softer than my old one, which helps for food to enter the disposal without too much effort. Even with the softer design, the food goes in and stays in, which is what it should do. I like it much better than the original that came with the disposal.
