Animal Bedding
Straw has been used as bedding for horses and farm animals for many years. It's warm, allows urine and other liquids to drain away, provides a comfortable bed, and is almost always less expensive than wood shavings and other beddings.
Garden Mulch
Adds additional bio mass and makes your garden or flower bed a place weeds will not want to grow.
Mushroom Cultivation
Straw and hay bales are commonly used as the bulk ingredients in mushroom substrate because they are inexpensive and easy to use. ... Though many types of mushrooms can be cultivated at home, oyster mushrooms are one of the easiest types to cultivate, and they generally grow well in hay bales.
Keeps the Chicken Eggs Clean
If you own chickens, make sure that there's lots of fresh straw in the nesting box, for this helps keep the eggs cleaner, as well as aiding in breaking prevention.
Desirable product for your lawn
Until established, grass seed or newly germinated plants will die if allowed to dry out completely.
Straw helps slow evaporation of water from the soil and keeps it moist while the grass seeds germinate. Leave the straw on top of the new grass seeds until they've germinated and grown tall enough for the first mowing.
After mowing the grass, either remove the straw or leave it to decompose amid the grass blades.

Very nice, golden colored, long stalk straw. This straw is fantastic! The bale was tight, very well compressed and a nice golden color. Long straw is what we wanted and this is perfect.I use for outside feral/stray cat shelters to provide warmth, and to soak up wet from rain or snow. But cats are using now even though weather has been in 70's which surprised me.Pictures: 1. Fresh straw through door of shelter; 2. Fresh straw, roof off; 3. Straw from last year--shows color difference between old and fresh straw.Happy I took a chance on it.

I know it seems funny that I am buying hay/strawnot for animals … I am using it in my yard to cover up horrible amounts of mud on my property. It will make it easier to walk in for my dogs to be able to run in the backyard without bringing in tons of mud. Perfect thing to use

We used this in our backyard chicken coop and I must say it exceeded my expectations. Our hens loved scratching in it and their eggs are cleaner since we added it to their nest boxes. Thanks for a great product at a great price!!!!

We used the bale in tact to grow vegetables out of. They worked perfectly. Comes in a box so it’s not shredded or falling apart when it got here. I only wish I would’ve bought two or three more. Now they are unavailable. Will definitely be buying more.

At first, everything about this product was great: came quickly, well packaged, easy to spread, but after scattering in our garden as a mulch, as suggested in product description, many sprouts have come up and are now taking over the garden. It has, in effect, ruined our garden for this season. A warning would be helpful, and the suggestion to use in the garden should be removed.
