I added this switch to a light fixture I temporarily wired to a junction box and plug-in power cord. This switch is well-made, and quite "snappy!" It won't easily switch itself on or off due to brushing against something, and should last a long time.The wires are the perfect thickness, and tied perfectly to the fixture's wiring with wirenuts. I really like how the front "plate" with the on and off markings unscrews for easy installation, and has a notch to ensure correct orientation. For any application, this switch seems to be a win!

I replaced a wall-hanging lamp above my wife's computer table in the kitchen (that had a shade and standard light-fixture switch) with a sconce-type fixture that had no switch at all. I drilled the mount for the light, attached its bracket to the wall and installed the switch. Now, she can switch the light off and on as needed and it works better in that location than the previous lamp. My only issue is with the utilitarian solidity of the toggle itself. It clicks loudly when flipped and makes for a kind of mechanized feel with turning the light on and off. However, it a way that is rather neat and makes for a robust feel, and all I ask from the switch is that it does not go defective down the line.

I had a rotating switch before (which was a dimmer) and the post broke off (plastic... WHY???). Broan OEM replacement was going to be $176. This works perfectly and was really easy to use as a replacement. I like the toggle switch MUCH BETTER than the original rotating know.

I was looking for a Ridgid 47832 toggle switch. With a little convincing, this one fitted quite well.
