Everthing works, on and off, tempeture control ect. My gas fireplace had been useless for a few years. The thermostat wouldn't work unbeknownst to me the Contractor had broken the wire to the thermostat. This remote took care of everything with the transmitter remote.

I used a nearly identical unit at our previous home but chose this one at half the price.It works as well as the previous one did, but installation can be difficult if you are installing it in a wall switch box. The receiver must be attached to one of the two included faceplates. The problem is that it snaps in place but there are no instructions on how to do this.Once you figure out how to attach it, it requires a fair amount of force to do so -- so much so that I was afraid of breaking the faceplate.Once past that point, installation took about 2 minutes and it worked perfectly.Were it not for the difficulty in attaching the faceplate, I would have rated it 5 stars.

I received my first order open and used. Requested a replacement which was delivered the very next day. The replacement is great and also works great. No more turning on the fireplace when I get too cold and turning off the fireplace when I get too hot (which always happens when I'm asleep in the middle of the night). Should have bought this years ago

Worked perfectly for 5 minutes until I called my wife over to show her how it works. Then made weird tone beeps then silent and no remote respose. I returned the faulty one and installed the replacement today. It is working perfectly so far, replacing a wall light switch. Upgraded from 1 star to 3.
