This product is a good fitting replacement for your 99-06 Silverado 1500 fuel door. It closes perfect and fits just right. I noticed it's a little less sturdy than the original GM part, but not by much.Feel confident in your purchase. This is a good replacement.

The item came primed. I, however, sanded it with 600 grit sand paper and reprimed because the priming should be fresh with no fingerprints, etc. on it. I went to Autozone and the Salesman looked up my vehicle paint number, which was not on the door but in the glove box. He matched the paint code. I completed the paint job on the gas door and installed it on the Silverado truck. I carved some of the plastic from the housing that holds the gas tank; sothat it did not damage the paint on the new gas door on the install. I had to take 2 days to paint it because it required 2 primer coats front and back. And 3 coats of paint for the front and 2 coats for the back. And 2 coats of clearcoat. It looks very good and is almost like a factory gas door.!
