When using, just take a small amount of embers and pull them apart, placing it around the burner ports' front and back, not to clump it on the gas ports.

We bought a house with a propane fireplace 8 years ago. It's been nice, upgraded to a wifi controller with auto thermostat, but it didn't look so great. The logs were fine, but it didn't have that feel of a real fireplace. So I decided to swap out the fire wool. Bought another product (from a local store, not Amazon). Had it a month and it really wasn't much better. A friend said it looked like it was still the old wool, so I hit Amazon and checked reviews. Picked this up and I cannot describe the difference. It consistently glows like embers and holds a little flame close to the logs. Exactly what you want it to do. There was so much in the pack that we have enough for a second replacement when (if?) the current wool starts to fall off. It really is a big visual upgrade to your propane/gas fireplace. ðŸ‘

I replace my embers every year for the simple fact they collect dust over the summer and smell the first several burns of the year. These are the best embers I have used and the bag is big enough to last for years.

Had to be shipped from outside of Canada.Used to line my gas fireplace. flame line to give it that special glowwas a large bag -- will last for many changes when a smaller amount would have sufficed
