I needed this tool and inserts to cut some internal threads in stainless steel, and I am cutting with the spindle in reverse to avoid bottoming out the tool. I am very pleased with how well the tool and inserts are cutting. This is the first time I have purchased from this seller and I will buy from them again.

I use on my mini lathe works like it should on mild steel but have not tried on SS

The bar its well made and holds the inserts securely and at proper rake for internal threading on lathe. The inserts are ok, and very economical to use with 3 cutting edges per insert. They work well in mild steel or cast iron but were quickly dulled by 1045PH (45RH). Can not go wrong at this price with inserts that will work for most jobs.

Tool holder is great but included inserts are the worst grade of "carbide" I've ever experienced. I wore down or chipped nine insert cutting surfaces doing a single 1x24 TPI thread. What should have been a ten minute job turned into an hour of cursing crappy inserts.

I bought this before I knew I needed it, but when doing right handed internal threads on a piece of 304 stainless, my carriage was lifting slightly. Used this in reverse and now I get perfect threads. Cutters included are garbage for stainless tho
