I would absolutely recommend this quill pen as a treat for yourself or a fun and unique gift. It writes beautifully. I love that it is a quill pen that uses an ink cartridge instead of needing to dip in an ink pot every few strokes. The customer services is also amazing. I had an issue with one of my nibs (it was causing the ink to completely drain from the cartridge when placed upright). I reached out to the company’s direct support team and they responded right away and sent me a replacement. The replacement works perfect! Great product from a great company.

For the price, this is an amazingly fun pen!When I was in high school in the 1990's, my favorite pen, which I still have to this day, was a fountain pen in regular pen form exactly like this one. With cartridges that need to be load into the nib.I loved that pen but over the years, it has become clogged permanently despite cleaning, so I retired it. I keep it in a keepsake box as I did years of physics and Spanish work with it.Although I gave it 5 stars, there's some slight issues almost not even worth mentioning but as a VINE participant, I have to talk about them.The feather is a little cheap. I think it might have been a larger feather that was trimmed into this shape and literally screen printed with some type of hawk markings. Which is fine, but the feather quality is weird. I rubbed the feather grabbing it on my computer screen and all the fine hairs of the feather broke apart and I had to hand comb it back into place.The balance of writing is a bit off but of course it is, there's a damn feather at the end of it.It came with so many colors of cartridges that I may be writing books for the rest of my life.The ink quality is a little bit less than what I' want. I wrote on several types of paper and it bleeds very easily leaving a not so sharp lettering on the page.Also the nib sizes may have been inaccurate. The smallest one I have seems to still be pretty thick and I was expecting the smallest one to be that of a regular pen, like 1 micron. It's bigger so your smallest font width will still be thick.

The product works well, but the box is dirty. It had a dirty powdery residue and some ash. It looked like the box had been used for smoking.The pen works well, though.

You really have to learn calligraphy to get this pen to function, of course, but it's an awesome set to start out with. Much fancier than a plain old fountain tip plastic pen, this intricate feather pen allows you to feel that inherent desire to write like the founding fathers. It comes with a neat little box and inside it contains many different colors, ink, and all the things you'd need. There's also a little wood block for standing the pen on when not in use. Functionally, the pen works exactly as expected and writes well, although it will sometimes drop ink leading to splats on the page. Overall this is a good set if you want to learn calligraphy and feel fancy while you do it.

I think this is a nice set for someone who is interested in learning calligraphy, and starting out. The set is cute with a metal pen and five interchangeable nibs with a long, decorative feather to give it a fun faux-quill look.The nibs are all flat cut, stub type, in various widths. Stub nibs are best for italic, black letter, Gothic type hands. I think it's easier to learn with the broader nibs because the angles are more obvious with the larger nibs. Other calligraphic hands like copperplate require a pointed, flexible nib - not included in this set. It also doesn't include a standard nib for normal cursive.Another thing that makes this good for students is that this set comes with ink cartridges. The plastic cartridge fits inside the body of the pen, and the inside of the nib pierces one end of the cartridge allowing a steady feed of ink. It's neater, cleaner, and easier to use than a pen that requires dipping into a bottle of ink, or even using a converter that can be filled from almost any type of ink. These are standard international cartridges so replacements are widely available.The set comes with a wooden box that can be used to store the extra nibs, and maybe 1-2 spare cartridges. The box can also be used as a pen stand as there is an opening in the lid to stand the pen. Also, there is a rather large, ornate paperclip that can double as a vintage bookmark.

I'm really loving this large calligraphy pen set. I actually like that this pen uses an ink cartridge rather than the typical pen that requires frequent dipping. This is especially helpful for beginners.Refills for this are also easy to find, which ensures it can be used for years to come.It writes smoothly, but does require a learning curve. Take your time, watch a few videos online, and in no time you'll be writing and feeling like a pro. This pen has different size tips for different looks. I appreciate the amount of color refills it comes with as well as the lovely box. Really good value here.This is a great beginners set and/or gift!
