This kit does what it’s supposed to do—connects your Opal 2.0 nugget ice maker to a water line so you don’t have to keep refilling the tank. The installation process was pretty straightforward, as long as you measure your tank and make sure you’re ordering the right size. The instructions were clear, and it came with everything needed to get it set up.Once installed, it works great. My ice maker now has a steady supply of water, which is a big convenience. The kit itself doesn’t take up much space, and it fits in nicely with the overall look of the machine. Just make sure to tighten all the connections properly to avoid any leaks.Overall, it’s a good product. Not super exciting, but it definitely gets the job done. If you use your ice maker a lot and are tired of refilling the water tank, this is a worthwhile upgrade.

I wanted to do a quick review for others... this product is not mass produced by the hundreds of thousands - it's printed on a 3D printer and hand assembled and shipped. Because of that, I think buyers should have a little extra patience.When I first got mine and hooked it up, as soon as I turned on the water, it leaked horribly. The inlet on the top of the lid wasn't tightened well enough. Simple fix with a wrench or two - tightened it up and it stopped leaking completely. I also noticed at first, the dispenser kept running out of water - the float switch wasn't triggering, but if I gave it a solid tap on the side, I'd hear the water kick on. I was going to look into adjusting the float inside, but I just ignored it for a couple weeks and it seems to have loosened up and resolved itself. After the first 2-3 weeks, it's been 100% reliable since.I'm lucky that I already had a water line there - we already use a separate water dispenser that goes through a large commercial Reverse Osmosis unit, so adding a T splitter and running a hose to this was super easy. I did go buy a shut off valve to put just before the hose goes into this lid so it can be shut off for disassembly, maintenance and cleaning. A shut-off might have been a nice addition but I guess you'll be at the store anyway getting the water line so it's an easy piece to pick up.If I were to offer any other suggestions, it might be to make the thing 3" taller and make the water line come out the back a bit more hidden - but I won't complain about that - it looks fine for me.I'll note that the Opal is the ONLY ice maker in the house for a family of 8, with the adults home all day every day - so we go through an absolute ton of ice. This thing never shuts off - it gets emptied so many times per day. We used to fill that jug at least 3x/day and it was super annoying. Since adding this, I haven't come to an empty ice maker yet. The kids never filled it but they took all the ice, so it seemed like my wife and I were constantly filling the reservoir - so we're really happy to not have to do that ever anymore. This is a perfect example of just-in-time custom manufacturing for a niche market.

I bought this to hard plumb my Opal 2.0 XL just a few weeks after using it exclusively with the water tank. I was only having to refill the tank once a day, but it was still inconvenient and annoying. This product has worked flawlessly and no need to add water ever again. I recently removed the velcro strap and haven't had any issues, so not really sure it's necessary.

The first one that I received started leaking on the top the same day that it was installed your replacement worked for about a month now it’s staying either stuck on or stuck off. Stuck on is the problem because it literally floods the kitchen..

The installation was rather easy, as long as you’re handy with waterlines and connecting them. I love the fact that I no longer have to fill up my 1 gallon reservoir every day.

This product is awesome. It has saved the hassle of filling our side tank. The steady flow of water and constant ice making is great! You need an existing water line, if you have that you can attach this!
